Moon When Mulch Falls Gracefully From The Skies

...too much of a rose.   The red leaves look good under the suddenly-ripening rose hips, which seem to ripen best when we have a few days of very light frost.     And it’s the time of year when herbs and fruit need to be gathered before the first hard frost.   The tomato plants were just starting to get going; got to try to start them earlier next year.   The thyme plant accidentally got pulled...

Tuesday's Post

Today's post is on *ta-da!* Garlic!!! I got the idea for this one as I ate a wee bit to much for dinner one night this weekend. As the cramps subsided I wondered "what else is garlic used for?"...thing I want to point out is a CAUTION. Garlic can be fatal for pets. Do not allow your cat or dog to consume either Garlic or Onion. If they do, take them immediately to the nearest emergency vet

Bacon Asparagus Chicken Roulades with Wine Velouté Sauce [Serves 4]

Crispy-skinned chicken rolls is worthy of any entertaining dinner - and easy enough to make often. This savoury pouring sauce is named after its smooth, velvety texture. It's based on a white stock...constantly until thickens. 9. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until reduced by a quarter. 10. Remove pan from heat. 11. Stir in cream before serving.

Question about herbs

Beginner gardener here; please forgive any questions that are obvious to those of you who are more experienced! I know that there are some herbs that change taste dramatically if they're allowed to flower/go to seed. Does anybody know if pineapple sage is one of them? Is there a list or website somewhere that has this information? As I've been googling, trying to find the answer to the above question...

Lesley Tierra's Tooth Powder

...your teeth but are also antiseptic, healing, stimulating, and/or contain silicon, which your teeth, gums, and bones all need. I ordered the ingredients I didn't already have from Mountain Rose Herbs. They are by far the most affordable online herb source, but they don't have powdered myrrh. I'll just have to grind it myself. glastonburyrain has made this tooth powder in the past, and...

Happy Birthday Mikee!!

...the soggy white stuff. Here are my leftovers the day after, served with quinoa: And finally, my quest for a vegetable patch continues, but I'm consoling myself for the time being by repotting herbs and watching them grow with excitement. I'll put them on just about anything, which usually results in me being asked, "Emma, why is there garden in my food?" ...I think I love herbs a bit too much...

I Hate My Toothpaste

I think I've become allergic/sensitized to my toothpaste. It's Crest Prohealth. For about a week now, I've had cracked mouth corners with a lot of inflammation. It feels like I've got paper cuts that won't...going away. So, what would you do? I could try other brands and risk having to throw them out, go to a natural toothpaste that costs more, or I could go the herbal route and make my own tooth powder
