The beginning of my walk, overlooking the canal, at the pedistrian bridge at the Savannah Rapids Pavillion. Looking at the Quarry from the hiking path. Along the way I see sunbathing...the next parts soon...the trail is 6 miles long and goes to downtown Augusta so there are many more views for you to see. I have not walked to the very end of the trail yet, but I will one day!
This is the oldest stone residence in Georgia. It was not very hard to find, it was a little ways outside of downtown Thomson, but then again if you are there by yourself (which I was) it's a little weird because there's not too much around and it's off of a dirt road. But this was a very cool place to visit and I even explored the inside of the house.
This is one of the city of Atlanta's oldest homes. Built at some time between 1845 and 1850, it was originally located on North Druid Hills Road and was moved to the grounds of the...above, were common on farmlands in this period. Located in Buckhead on the grounds of the Atlanta History Center, a very easy place to visit and definitely recommended.
