Last week I started prepping the powder room for new paint and a new light fixture. Well, when I pulled off the old light fixture, an ugly 4 light bar, I found something unexpected. There was no electrical...planning on replacing it after the new carpet is installed in November. That way the new trim won't get all scraped up during the installation. That's also why there is paint on the carpet in the closet
Indian Summer is winding down. There have been too many October weekends with bright sunshine and mild temperatures. Don't get me wrong. It's been delightful. Extra afternoons to sit out on my back...is going well ... I'm closing in on names for 2 remaining mystery 2nd-line characters, and found names for my two Samoan bodyguards. I hope writing the book is as much fun as the planning has been
So, I don't think we thought this one all the way through. About a year and a half ago, Hubby decided to rip apartthe basement and make a home theatre type thing. He was really careful and laid down...the carpet? Or once it has mold do we have to throw it out? Help! It's nice looking Berber (sp?) and new carpet was NOT part of the budget! He's covered the entire basement level in the tarps. Eep
Some may think those crystal chandeliers are only for rich houses, famous personalities, to some big mansions, and in a grand hall. Though you can see a lot of chandeliers on those places mentioned...approximately about thirty feet, but if you chandelier is small you can try it in a lower ceiling as long as you prevent it to head bumps and to some unnecessary accident inside your house.
Two Fridays ago Patrick turned on the TV and we were greeted with sound but no picture. As far as we know there was no reason why it shouldn’t be working. We tried other modes, but nothing would light...replacement part should be an upgrade. There are 17 other boards inside, and even though a specific component may have burned out, it is customary to replace the entire board. We’ll see what happens
I have a refrigerator that no longer works, and am looking for the cheapest possible way to have it removed--obviously free would be GREAT, but I'm not counting on that. I'm located in Hampton Roads, VA; if that helps!
I am finally painting the bedroom door (I want it done before my parents get here, so that I can shut it), which means that I am camping out in the living room. The night before last, that went fine...was when I went on-line), telling her either time was fine. It's 12:30, and has she replied to my e-mail or phoned? Of course not. I'm getting the feeling that sclerotic is a fitting adjective...
since we've been on an old house kick... we just bought an 1885 house that has hardwoods under some of the carpet. the man we bought it from was a contractor and does a lot of historic renovation. when...disssuaded...he did the floors 5-10 yrs ago, so...question: is there a super duper uber nasty gunkremover for this type of tar-glue that has more recently come on the market? historic renovators unite! ;

Ceilings caving in seem to be all the rage this season. I was doing the dishes when my roommate came in and asked about the puddle in the living room. I thought it was one of the dogs being naughty,... access to the attic is through my closet, so I'm going to have to move all my clothes and stuff so the repair guys can get up there. I have no idea where I'm going to put my things in the mean time
