Urgh... I have a cold *sniffs*, so maybe this sucks ass like my cold does. *slumps* suck-ass cold . And I feel like I'm trying to break back into this story with a hammer, just swinging away. Not my... Jim’s breathing changed and Blair stopped thinking about anything and held himself still. He’d stay still as long as he had to. He’d stay like that all night if it meant that Jim would sleep.
Here's the most recent part of Inverse that I've posted to my list. No need to comment. I'm working on archiving the story here on LJ so I'll be set up to post more:) * * * Displacement * * * Blair made coffee. He was pretty sure everyone in the room would’ve preferred several stiff shots of whiskey but all he had was beer and half a bottle of the god-awful strawberry wine that Carrie...
** Symmetry ** When Blair came back from the bathroom, he stood in the doorway to Jim’s room and waited for permission to come in. Jim was sitting on the floor with his knees drawn up, leaningagainst...but once there, they stopped. He looked up and down the street but there was no one on the sidewalks, nothing to see and Blair knew that, for the second time in three years, Jim had disappeared.
** Entropy ** Blair woke, opened his eyes to the fragile light of early morning, and thought instantly of Jim lying on his futon like a man shipwrecked; washed up on a beach, exhausted and battered...and he thought he’d discovered the true depth of his own fragility, but looking at himself now, his vision was jarred by the clarity around him and he didn’t think he’d ever felt so breakable before.
** Relative Space ** Blair parked in front of Leo’s second hand store, cut the engine and sat for a moment clutching the steering wheel in a bloodless grip. He’d promised Jim that he wouldn’t drop by...eyes were already closed but he wasn’t asleep; Blair knew because when he reached the doorway of his darkened bedroom a soft voice spoke in hardly more than a whisper. “Thank you,” he heard Jim say.
No need to comment. I'm just getting this up on LJ Inverse by Brook Henson (c)2008 The night he found out that Jim Ellison was alive, Blair was standing on the sidewalk outside the new Thai place on twelfthstreet, fighting to open his umbrella because it had started to drizzle. He glanced across the street, looking for his car and that was when he saw Jim standing under the sickly light of a street...

At the moment, Inverse didn't look like the high level, spell flinging awesome witch she was. The best (in her own mind) magical talent to come out of her side of the pond since Doom (one had to maintain proper respect for that old man) was currently wearing a favoritet-shirt and a pair of jeans. And a chef's hat. Everything was set out and Zeth was helping her with this. Now it was time to distill...
...up with his costume. All systems green, force-field generators at full. It was just about showtime. His formalwear went back into the packet, then with a whisper of thought the entire thing got disintegrated. No traces, nothing to lead back to him. The disintegration ring would need time to rechange, but wrangling Inverse and Zeth into doing their parts would eat a large part of his rechange time.
The museum was thrown open to the public, the new display of Far Eastern art at the focal point of the festivities. Men and women in gowns and suits walked from exhibit to exhibit while a small chamber...Untouchable caste of Japan. Donations were flowing steadily from the well-heeled members of the museum and their honored guests. Across the street, a full-sized van sat in the darkness, lights off
