this is my handy dandy DIY wrap up posty thing. our wedding was April 12 and a decent chunk of it was DIY. things aren't in any particular order, but i tried to include pictures from the wedding, so you...he made it look pretty. then we just printed them up at Vistaprint and with that, dear wedding communities, i bid you farewell! x-posted to diy_weddings & weddingplans
First - thanks to all who helped with my invites (cutter/quote/word check). I finished them and mailed them out a couple weeks ago, and just now got a chance to share the final product. I think they...it came in - I am super excited to know it made it... Now I have to make the first fitting appointment. I was worried about the fit - but not any more. EEEEK! Looks much better in white (to me)!!!
crossposted to 2008_weddings very early this morning Ugh... who knew that making invitations could be SO HARD! There is just way too much information to stuff into one tiny little envelope...I make this clear. Don't worry about adhering to any degree of formality with your suggestions either, because these are to be very informal invitations to a casual reception (glorified keg party)
Well, after reading everyone's suggestions, I'm planning on making our invitations. Ho-boy. I'm fairly computer savvy, but I'm graphic design challenged. I thinking about using this flourish on the... like this (filigree) and this (damask) . If I'd be ambitious, where would I find these, since they're bigger? weddingpaperdivas.com is an excellent site for ideas, but alas... I'm not very artistic
1) Our invitations are 8.5"x11" paper with business size envelopes I'm trying to figure out how to do...be bad and need a restaurant for that many people on short notice, I don't even think that's doable in Monterey. Ideas? Ok that's a lot of questions so I think I'll leave it at that for now
I bought these at World Market today for 9.99 plus tax for 25. What do you think? Can they be used for invites even though the envelopes are standard size letter envelopes? Is that tacky? The wedding is... Ideas of what to do further with these or x the idea completely? This is what they look like in their box still. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f305/julieannk/Wedding%20Stuff/possibleinvite.jpg

Hi all! As we discussed last week, myself and my fab co-mod lilsayermonster have been busy finding and saving MANY DIY links and projects to beef up our little community here. Now, this is...keep checking back. If you have any you'd like me to add, PLEASE feel free to respond to this and i'll add a little linky for it. Hope this helps some of you! Best of luck with DIY fun- Kyleig
Has anyone here heard or considered using Messages in a Bottle as their wedding invites? What about DIY Message In a Bottles? I saw them at the local wedding faire this last weekend and I loved the idea...brand Selix but it looks like there are aviator wings on the collar. Does any one have any suggestions for formal wear suits or tuxes that look like Navy uniforms but aren't necessarily from the Navy
Here I am again needing help with my DIY invite. I changed the font and wording just a bit.....how does this look? Be brutally honest, as my family will be when they receive them! Hahaha. I'm also...ribbon that keeps it together. The invitation is in the "raw" as in not cut out or anything yet. The "monogram" tag isn't on correctly, this is after several open/closes by friends.
