I know I haven't written anything in a while. I got bored writing out everything I ate, did, and read every day, so I figured people were bored reading it as well. Not that those notes really counted... It also would be good to get the St. Justin site up and running once and for all so that I can put that on my resume. If only I'd learn to obsess about stuff like that! Posted via LiveJournal.app .
I can honestly say that one of the main reasons I want to get a job right now is so that I have tangible proof I am a valuable member of my family. Whether real or imagined, I always seem to feel that...and not have to deal with anyone . But it will make me feel a little better when I can wave a paystub around and say, "At least I contributed this to the family!" Posted via LiveJournal.app .
So I went to my first interview on Friday. It was for a part-time receptionist position at an addiction recovery clinic. About 5 minutes into the interview, I realized there was probably no way I could...plan is to eventually fill it up with other little paper knickknacks and keepsakes. I'll take a photo of it soon and post it in this journal. I call it my Bling Board. Posted via LiveJournal.app .
I am beginning to wonder if I have the mental resolve to prepare for reentry into the workforce. I know I need to volunteer somewhere to beef up my resume. I know I need to finish the dreaded Saint Justin's...in the cold and dark last night to pick up said book which had just arrived on reserve for me at the circulation desk. She is a very good and faithful daughter! Posted via LiveJournal.app .
So I have been reading these books by Philippa Gregory about the Tudor kings and queens. The current one I'm going through, The Virgin's Lover, reads like a full out Harlequin romance novel. Slightly... you could actually quote lines from them and stuff. H: In other words, you really secretly want me to spout off fluff like some faggot Renaissance festival loser. I went to another job traIning workshop yesterday put on by the county. It wasn't as exciting as the first, but that would've been a big act to follow indeed. In this class I took a career assessment...four training classes in two weeks. Not bad. I know I'm forgetting to mention something else. I'm sure I'll remember what it was as soon as I post this. Sigh. Posted via LiveJournal.app .
So, wow, what have I been up to? For me, a lot. In mid-December, I went to my intake interview with the Department of Rehabilitation Services (DORS). The whole thing was funny in a pathetic sort of...the mall. Besides all that, I've been playing Shrooms on Second Life and reading more bodice-rippers. I need to catch up on email, blog reading, and Facebook now. Posted via LiveJournal.app .
I finally figured out what my problem is at our new Church. I feel like I do not know the secret password or the private handshake. No matter what I do or who I try to talk to, people seem to look at...area house soon, we might need to start begging on the street corner. But that's a whole other convoluted story that I don't even want to think about right now!) Posted via LiveJournal.app .
I had a pretty good day today. Emili, the Bestest Cousin (BCWWW) in the Whole Wide World, and I went to a local area thrift store for the first time. I should say "a thrift store mall." It was crazy....just playing along, but she seemed as equally as thrilled as I was in our organizational endeavors. We took pictures. Seriously. I'll post them eventually. Promise. Well, I did MTurk HITs all day long, most of which paid 10 cents a pop. Of course now it feels like my wrist is going to break off. I'm amazed how tired I can get doing simple computer work. Hopefully...family time. Toys, ordered for various wee cousins in gift exchanges, are arriving in the mail. I kind of want to keep them for myself cuz they are so cute! More later.
