I am definietly past due for a musical post This week-end my friend Gearóid Ó hAllmhuráin (left) is giving a paper at the C eltic Studies Conferenc e at the University of Toronto (Saturday Nov 1...conference, as I will be going on to the Hallowe'en Masque closing party for "Grave Goods" at the Woodstock Museum ... but I will be there for the Ottawa session - which should be truly excellent

Wow, I actually managed to update on Monday! That's progress... I was out two nights this week - on Tuesday the music session was on in the pub, which was fun. I made friends with the other guitar player...Martha's house - all of us were witches, apart from Fiona, who as a fairy - and then headed to the bar. It was OK. Getting ready was way more fun. I'm off for a whole week now *is extremely happy

So I'm totally excited that I am going to see the O'Briens play at Dublin Square tomorrow nite.  They are performing for each of the next 3 Fridays, but I will be gone on my Alaska trip for two of those - so tomorrow is it!  Now I just have to figure out what to wear...

On Monday and Tuesday, the members of Slide (Ireland) were here in Tulsa to teach workshops and private lessons before heading on to their next gig.  Things went very well, and there was a great response...what was and wasn't working, suggesting ways for improvement, and explaining things really well.  To quote one of the other participants, there was only one problem - it was too short!

So, Im still in the poconos, totally boring. Drove 4 hours last night, halfway back home to go to a concert at this small cafe in upstate New York. It was the hothouse flowers at the Towne Crier Cafe....I was recording a video, thanks alot, I really appreciated it. It's been a few days since I posted last. I went to the Debs. That was fun. We arrived at the hotel/nightclub it was being held at, had dinner, danced, and everyone got completely wasted. Not me, though...just post a nice picture of Michelle, me, Aoife and Olivia in town just before leaving for the Debs: My father took a lot of pictures of me in the garden but I'm scowling in most of them. Heh

I know, I do tend to go on about this . . . Tuesday, July 22nd,8pm-midnight Half-Time Rec, 1013 Front Ave in St. Paul (about 3 blocks east of Lexington on Front) Comfy chairs, friendly staff, roomy...enough people show up, the Tuesday gigs will continue. Which would make me very happy, as Bedlam is my favorite local band and I really like being able to see them every week. Hope to see you there
