I got the rough draft of my essay back today.  I did okay, except for a few kanji.  I didn't write 私 well enough, but I only used it three times.  (The top line was straight, not diagonal.)  I used...in it?  I used to put a hook in it, but I was always marked down for it.  Does き have a hook too?  We were taught hiragana at the beginning of last semester, why are you making me doubt myself now?)
