Recently, Mr. Spouse has mentioned a few times that people have gone to him and asked "What's up with Michel on Twitter? We don't understand what he's talking about." That's probably because a goodly of... wishing everyone a good week. With the calendar settling down a bit after the month of Tishri ends the above should be the pretty much the only Hebrew you'll have to see from me. Does that help
Last Friday after shabbos services at Congregation Sha'ar Zahav I talked to the conversion coordinator about officially starting the process of becoming a jew. I have been studying and practicing for...includes trips to synagogues of several types and shabbat dinner at a rabbis house. A couple we met at CSZ last week raved about the class so I thought it would be a lot of fun. Class starts tonight
* A dream I had tonight lingered on - Gnillib and Norping behaved strangely, condescending. Very much out of character. Then I woke up in an irritated mood. I think I haven´t really forgiven them, yet...sarcasm (no! really?) and food restrictions (anti-pig) down to a T. Not entirely sure of the G-dhead, though. * At the moment I´m sipping some Henkell Trocken , but am so tired that I´m off to bed soon.
T he new academic year officially began on Saturday. I can only take this to be an anti-semitic gesture on behalf of the state. On this occasion I shall let it pass. As dewy-eyed undergraduates molest...whirlwind romances. I don't even have her telephone number. This is all well and good but one year later I find myself thinking: If she wasn't joining a club, why the hell was she in that queue?

There is a new community that's started called stillJewish , that I would encourageeveryone on my f-list who is Jewish or pro-Jew to go take a look at and maybe join. It's for Jews (and their allies) in fandom. Also, when's the last time you called your mother?
Ohhh. New layout. The title looks a bit weird, but whachagonnado? The Google adverts to the side scare me, it seems to think it knows me. According to it I have a belly (which I don't think I do) and that...(we go from the 18th July to 27th July and my birthday is the 25th. YAY.) and I'll be all 16 and stuff. SO EFFING EXCITED. And then Reading Festival (not Reading as in books, as in music music music)
It turns out my grandmother's grandmother's name was Stein. She was from Germany. I think that makes me a 16th Jewish provided nobody else in the family was Jewish or married Jewish, which I'm not aware...have a lot of explaining to do, like why I go to Catholic Church, why I'm not sympathetic to Israel, why my favoriteJews have tattoos, and why I still don't like Schindler's List. Dude I am so happ
Today, my good friend Lisa's mom Ruth came into school with me to talk to my students about her experiences during the Holocaust. She was six years old when Kristallnacht happened, and she and her family...to figure out how to make it in the Bronx. It was a very intense experience. The kids were really into it. A few of them went up to speak to her after. It was a great way to end our Holocaust unit
