I just finished watching X-15 , a 1961 film about the test flights of NASA’s X-15 rocket. It stars Charles Bronson, David McLean, Ralph Taeger, Mary Tyler Moore, and, most importantly, the voice of...the time I was fighting to stay awake. But I did manage to learn that the success of the X-15 was “the beginning of the natural extension of man’s capabilities.” I know that because Jimmy said so

Yes, that's right, two posts in one day. My deepest apologies. Guess where I got this meme from? If you guessed stillsparkling ...then I'm obviously too predictable. But you'd be right. You may...kind of like a new, completely inept king taking the name of a great ruler from the past. Some people may be fooled, but not the wise ones. And classic film fans are most definitely the wise ones.

So, I woke up this morning and my stomach felt horrible! Fortunately, it's feeling better now but it still doesn't feel too hot. I haven't eaten anything all day. I'm probably going to wake up Tomorrow... So now I'm just watching an old Jimmy Stewart ( I just love him) movie. I suppose that's enough randomness for now. Hopefully I didn't bore you too much if you actually read all of this :-p.

Think of 5 fictional characters whose names start with that letter, and post...Goodness, I hadn't realized just how many of my favorite characters had "J" names. Picking five out of the lot wasn't easy. (I don't know why. It isn't like John, James, and Joshua are common names.)

My 6 th grade teacher once related a story to the class about how she, as a young girl around our age, had received news of the assassination of JFK. When she was done sharing her memory of the experience...books, Miss Saunders."   - Quite possibly my favorite scene in the movie. Starts around 7 min. 30 sec. Last night I revisited a movie that I hadn’t watched in several years – Five Graves to Cairo (1943), a World War II espionage thriller directed by Billy Wilder, and starring Franchot Tone, Anne Baxter...the next time I decide to treat myself to a “new” Jimmy movie. But tonight I'm watching something else. What exactly, I don't know, but I think it's time I sign off and make that momentous decision.

On Saturday I dusted my room and, as usual, when I got to the entertainment memorabilia shelf, I had to stop cleaning for a moment and just sit and look through things for a bit. So, I started flipping...still be seen regularly on the major networks. But, then again, I also dislike commercials, editing, and pan & scan, so I guess I'll just be thankful for the existence of channels like TCM today.
