Canon EOS 30D F 5.6 - 1/400 seconds ISO 100 W e got to visit our good friends the Clarkes today. It was great. Dr. Clarke was my wife's thesis chair, and we've enjoyed a good friendship ever...pictures as the case may be! The last picture is the famous Christus statue in the visitor's center. (Yes, the solar flare is on purpose. I'm a big fan o' the flare.)
According to the [Mormon] church, sometime after the translation was complete, the golden plates were removed by Moroni and are hence unavailable for inspection. This means that there is no concrete evidence...to the Mormon church late in his life, even though in the interim he had said that several other churches were true.) Over the last few weeks I have been reading the "Journal of Joseph Smith" along with the Book of Mormon for a documentary I am working on for my website. I myself am an Atheist but I wanted to compile...and more each day. The whole point of writing this out was to encourage people to approach it in more of a one on one study, using critical questioning rather than insulting. It has worked for me! :)
For the next two years, we're studying the words of the Prophet, Joseph Smith. A special edition book has been put out for study. Mine arrived in the mail two weeks ago, and I've been reading a...of writing. They each have their own style. I'm not sure what it is - the Voice of the Prophet, perhaps? It will be interesting to see if that feeling stays with me as the next two years move forward
I wanted to say some things about this week. I think it's been a really good one as I look back on it. There's nothing exactly tangible that has made it so, but it just seemed to work out and I feel...man, and through him the Lord restored his church and gave us the fullness of His gospel. I am indebted for all eternity to my Savior for His acts of taking my sins upon Him. Farewell my friends.
I was driving home and the car radio was off. I don't know why but it's been off for a couple of days now. Anyhoo... I start thinking about Sundy and my responsibility to conduct the songs for Relief Society...Sunday I'll testify of Joseph Smith. I am grateful for the uplifting power of hymns, I am grateful for the presence of the Holy Ghost and the ability He has to lead me on the straight and narrow path
I'm writing a paper on Joseph Smith for my U.S. History class in college, so this seems like a good subject for a macro. If anyone has some good Mormon macros, pass them along and make this thankless assignment a little more tolerable. No offense to any Mormons in this community, but all this research and writing is hard on my nerves, not to mention my brain cells.
My first experience with Reiki began as many of my martial arts anecdotes do; with me hitting myself with a weapon. This anecdote begins when I hit myself in the head during a weapons class several years...not be afraid to do what we know is right; even if it costs us some measure of orthodoxy. I've always hated orthodoxy, because it comes across to me as us telling Him what He will and will not do.
Recently Kevin Moist asked me a few questions over e-mail, the end result of which
appears in his webzine Deep Water Acres .
I want to use this post to elucidate on a couple of things I mention in passing...source was probably
