It's the time of year that I'm inclined to send a rhyming valentine. And since it's june it may seem silly that I'd swoon and spend an afternoon Or any time on rhyming valentines, I'd say I must agree. But here I am and there you are and here I wrote it afterall.
Animal Farm, steeped in scathing commentary about communism and the Russian Revolution, as well as 1984, a ferocious parody of the totalitarian state, are masterpieces of literature and social thought...book, but it really isn't well designed or written - the narrative is far too jumpy and disjointed. Perhaps I'm old fashioned, but I like my biographies to have some kind of chronological cohesion.
Synopsis 'First in a field of one' (Literary Review) Robert Wilson's first novel, a tense and powerful thriller set in the sultry heat of West Africa. Benin, West Africa. Englishman Bruce Medway operates...he, indeed, alive or dead? An excellent, pacey thriller with a nice sense of place. I really enjoyed it - I felt transported to West Africa, and Medway was a likeable laidback hero. Recommended.
