As the damage to the universe begins to accumulate, the skies of Earth take on a deep red color, as though space itself were bleeding. Strangestorms begin to form, with unusually-colored bolts of lightning.
In the span of a few seconds, Val finds himself torn from the center of a battle in Gotham's wharf distract, and placed bodily in a special preparedwarehouse. His abductor, Jesse Quick, may regret her role in the maneuver, though - even in such a brief journey, Val has ample time to twist in her grasp and slam a nerve cluster in her side.
Val, harried and hunted by the flying heroes, uses the cover of Gotham's harbor to cover the remaining distance to the city. He bursts from the water at one of the piers, startlingseagulls and fishermen...him, and still tracking him via his flight ring. He stops in a narrow lane between two of the warehouses in the wharf area, to try and clear his head, and to see if his pursuers have bee evaded
The Legionnaire known as Karate Kid - Val Armorr - sails effortlessly through the skies, in a generally Northwestern direction - moving from the skies above Metropolis towards another nearby urban environment...that Killer Moth had unleashed on him just minutes before. He is completely unaware that his flight ring is broadcasting a signal that his Legion colleagues can use to track his location precisely
His thoughts are jumbled - the tangle of streets and the urban decay seem at once familiar and forbidding. The tall skyscrapers of the downtown area remind him of home, but he also feels the need to stay...and orange outfit is unusual, the people here seem more content to mind their own business - and so he has sought refuge in an alley, sitting on the ground next to a dumpster as he tries to focus
... And speaking of The Karate Kid , (which I watched for the umpteenth time this weekend) I have to have this shirt—and I'm totally wearing it to my nephew's next tae kwon do event. On a related note, No More Kings' "Sweep the Leg" video is equally worth watching umpteen times.
The Karate Kid has always been one of my favorite
movies. I could relate to the main character, Daniel, as he struggled to
adapt to a new place, new people, and new rules. Thanks to Mr. Miyagi, who...workshop, itself.
Above, the inside of the apartment
complex looks almost exactly like it did in the movie. Unfortunately,
I did not see Uncle Louis. Maybe next time.
An okay video but I found it funny, because I had such a crush on Ralph Macchio when I was a teen. I had to see every movie he was in and buy any teen magazine he was in. This video just brought back memoires for me and other people from that time period. When I first watched it I didn’t realize that most of the original casts were in the video.
I know I'm going to regret not posting stuff as frequently as I was, but every time I come here and click that "post" link, I stare at the blank form and just blaaaaaah. But okay...pushpushpush...feel...KarateKid the other day and did this quickie for no real purpose, other than Johnny rules in a corny, "I iron my hair", kinda way: "No such thing as bad student, only bad teacher." - Mr. Miyag
Friday Saturday Sunday My weekend ruled. Friday I went out to The Yazoo Tap Room with my dad for beers. That place is just awesome. It is small, cozy and has a good vibe about it. That and you can smell...that reputedly has the graves of witches in it. (I am told that the head stones are in the shape of tear drops.) Neat! I am sticking to my May 17th goal to get the first draft finished!
