We're watching a fair amount of TV. We painted some of the tea stuff that she got for her birthday. We've played card games. Nick Jr has way too many commercials. (Of course, I've been getting used...if our lawn would ever grow, we'd be able to see grass. However, I don't know the Spanish word for hay. Sooner or later, we should go over and pick up her homework folder from her friend's house
Rachael officially started kindergarten on Monday, August 25, 2008. She's a little young - in the state of Virginia, a child must be five years old by September 30 in order to start kindergarten, and Rachael won't be five until February. But she was so ready for kindergarten - and maybe even a little more. Want to hear about what we've done this year? :) BIBLE We start our morning with a devotion...
...do not match the image of revolutionary left-winger intellectual French students :S Maybe the hang out at a different campus then around humanities departments. Also I noticed an ad for bilingual kindergarten ( Les Petits Bilingues ) in my local boulangerie while getting my daily baguette. I was wondering would it be too much for a small child to have Finnish parents, raised in France and then...
..."ZAK QUIT TALKING!" I remember the day I prayed the child would speak. Never did I imagine that he'd go from not speaking a word to never shutting up. He's doing great. This is his second year in Kindergarten. Last year the teachers really didn't want him in Kindergarten. He wasn't ready. He should stay home one more year, he was just barely turning 5. I refused. I see no reason it would hurt...
While attending a conference in LA, a presenter reminded the audience YOU are guilty of being a BULLY if you stand idle and do nothing. Bullying happens to more than just "kids". Some "reality" shows...also begins with self-esteem. Knowing you "can" do "something" many times has to come from within. Visit www.yeahyeahoutloud.com and see how you can become your own best "cheer" leader!.
Field trip is over, but the kids have an hour of school. They'll be doing snack, and maybe a little science talking about what they learned or did on the field trip. Maybe if the teacher likes it, they can do a chart of who liked what about the field trip. They will be observing Handwashing Day. I have an hour at home (or in the car) before I have to pick up Emily.
Last year for Christmas, I decided I wanted my daughter, ( lil_lily_b ) to make something simple and cute for family. Something just from HER. Together, we made pie pan ornaments (cut holiday shapes...time when we've got a third bottle. She's actually looking over my shoulder right now and reminding me "Hey, where are those bottles? We have to make one for me, you remember?" yes... I remember
Last year for the month of October, I had a lot of fun turning these recycleable objects into Halloweencrafts that any kid can help with: Milk Jug Jack O Lanterns: milk jugs, paint, sharpie markers... etc... and a flower pot, rocks, and a 25-light strand from christmas. Plug it in and Voila! Shiny. I'm having so much fun with this stuff. ~mother of 3 year old Elizabeth ( lil_lily_b )

It worries me when someone with power says "nuculer." Does it mean that s/he's never read the word nuclear , only heard it mispronounced by others who had inattentive teachers? The person speaking seems to know what the word means, but I wonder about that too.
