I do love the Booker Prize.  As soon as the short list is announced, I run to the bookstore and buy as many on the list as stocked. Because our markets in the USA are skewed toward US writers, we don't...entry.  More later when I do. With each discovery, I delve deeper.  I've read almost all of Anita Brookner's books, all peerless, McEwan's, Barker's, Rushie's...   What a gift the Booker is.

Post exams, I happened to read these two books - Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai, the Booker winner - The Namesake by Jumpa Lahiri, the Pulitzer prize winner Inheritance of Loss: Drones about an orphan...of the story is cool and the final outcome surprised me! Currently reading "South by Java Head".. Another of those Alistair McLeans - descriptive, good plots, thrilling. More on this, when I finish it
