Yesterday was pretty crazy. I was refilling water in the koi pond, but kinda left it running too long. To top things off, we also had a sudden heavy downpour appear out of nowhere!! The pond ended up overflowing and hit an electrical outlet, tripping the breaker. And I couldn't reset things right away because the area around the outlet still had some water (whose bright idea was it to make it a basin...
Went to the doctor today and got a certificate to cover me for missing Uni exam last week. Also got an xray as my knee has been troubling me recently. Frankly I think its the recent wet weather. Also...putting them alongside the pond and rooting them with rocks and concrete slabs. Filled with water these will make additional (very shallow) ponds which will probably be ok for small fish such as goldfish
Looks like I got friended on Facebook by an old classmate from college! I need to work on uploading pics from my trip sometime... Today I finally got all the stuff I had mailed back to me! Since I try...no problems during my trip. And up till now, I hadn't had any problems since I returned! But today, I got hit really hard... I'm not used to suffering from allergies this late in the year
and some of the sticks landed on top of a lily pad. So gold and black climbed up on the lily pad with his pectoral fins like a trained dolphin and munched them all up! He was out of the water for maybe...here like grape jelly? I think I'm going to make some, but I don't like it! So, if I make some, I'm going to need people to send it to. Let me know! I have so many grapes out back, it's a little crazy
...next tat too. Hahah, tat too... tattoo... I thought it was funny STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT And no, no-one gets to know what it is. I have only told one person. So there :P I'm working on a Dragon Koi pic, his name is Frank. It's a very tattoo type image and really popular amongst ink afficionados, but I love the story and the metaphor behind it. Basically the legend is usually that when the koi...
...to find a trail of ants from the window to the box where I kept them. That was a very heart breaking moment. The garden is a happy place. The fish in our pond remind me of the large koi in Japan , always hanging around the surface and kissing your fingers for food. I adore the flowers that have been planted throughout the garden but honestly wish our cherry tree would bloom longer...
...face. The pond isn't the same pond. "It's just a fish." I know. But when you've known a fish for 8 years... *shrug* If you don't recall who Marbles was-- she was my first and oldest koi, about 8 years old and 2ft long. A raccoon snuck under the deer net Tuesday night and killed her, but not without leaving me her head, as raccoons often do. It probably goes without saying that I...
Japanese Koi fishes, Desaru, Malaysia. There was a pond full of Koi fishes, all of which seemed to know that humans have food. So, they jumped around frantically near my camera. I first took a few shots and realized that the fishes had motion blur due to their frenetic activity. After shifting to a faster speed, I got these. In retrospect, I should've gone even faster. #1 in particular reminds...
...out front. I'm hoping we can get it removed or replaced with a proper cable run. I assume it is the neighbor's phone line, but it is seriously f-ed up. In the long run we intend to have a large koi pond in one corner of the yard. Pulling up the lining and rocks where the little pond used to be we found an amazing network of blonde roots under the pond's pool liner. there's also an old collar...
happy anniversary to us. :) we've been together 4 years, which can only mean that our love is greater than the urge to sometimes strangle each other. ROFL. love you, koi.
