September 8 - So, what else have I been forgetting and/or forgoing? Well... 4) We have a new cat! Actually, he's just a baby, having just turned two months old. Basically, my mother...Day for - the 7th - Tim Seeley (SEE-lee, not si-LEE, as I heard recently), and the 8th - David Micheline (MIK-el-EYE-nee)!
MISC. STUFF Lastly, I came across a lot of fun, oddball stuff when I was looking through my Kubert School keepsakes. I hope I don't embarrass anyone with it (keep in mind that this stuff dates from over twenty years ago).
THE SCHOOL BUILDING Since 1984 was the first year that The Joe Kubert School was in the old Dover High building, I really tried to capture the feel of those days in photos, just for history's sake. "Tried" being the appropriate word. I can't take a decent photograph to save my life. Sigh. Oh, well...here they are anyway...
CLASS ASSIGNMENTS Somewhere around here there are stacks and stacks of old assignments, but I was only able to find a handful of what I drew during that 1984-1985 Kubert School year. Some of these were discussed during Kubert School month bloggings..
THE MANSION The Mansion was a truly amazing structure. It probably should be a museum (and it probably will be someday). Below are some of the photographs I took of the building itself, the...of Victorian life in the middle of choking, suburban sprawl. Remember, pass your cursor over the pix for more info.
In doing the research needed for my month of Joe Kubert School remembrances, I eventually found many photos, assignments, and other ephemera from my 1984-1985 school year. I tried to incorporate as many...under the guidance of Stan Kay, who stodd by as I drew, offering pointers (except the last one) Pass your cursor over the pix for individual info.
August 31 - I'll be honest. It took me a long time to put myself back together after my disappointing Kubert School experience. I couldn't even bring myself to draw anything for over a year, until... That's it for Kubert School Month, I guess, except for your last (and my personal favorite) Joe Kubert School Alum of The Day - Stephen R. Bissette!
August 30 - When we last saw our hero... Seriously, though, it's pretty important that you've read at least the previous entry before you continue with this one. This post is about...anything at all anymore. More on that tomorrow (now that's a lousy "cliffhanger"). Here, though, is your Joe Kubert School Alum of The Day - Kim DeMulder!
August 29 - Bear with me. This is going to be a long one. I will admit that there were other, possibly contributory issues behind my growing disenchantment with my year at The Joe Kubert... More in the next post. For now, here's your Joe Kubert School Alumni of The Day for - the 28th - Joe Moore , and the 29th - Ben Ruiz!
