The stage has been set for the Season 71 finals, and as I predicted, it's going to be Ateneo versusLa-Salle-or-FEU for the senior men's basketball championship :-p Regarding the Ateneo-UE semifinals...the ground :( All in all, it looks like my preseason predictions are on track for now, but let's see how things go. That's enough basketball for now. I still have to study for a quiz tomorrow
The Blue Eagles had another great game yesterday, defeating the UST Growling Tigers 64-57. This time, the offense was more diversified, with four players scoring in double digits - Rabeh Al-Hussaini ...going to let me out of the house on Saturday, the day before we leave :-p So it looks like yesterday's game against UST was my last...at least until I come home for summer vacation next year
The sun rose as usual this morning (sort of), so last night was not the end of the world. In case you missed it, Ateneo lost its first game of the UAAP season to the FEU Tamaraws, 66-72. The Blue Eagles...mode this season. Whatever the real reason, I'll gladly take the win. I don't know how many more there will be for the Lady Eagles this season :-/ and at least there was one Ateneo win yesterday
I'm very happy to announce that all Ateneo's UAAP basketball teams won their games this past weekend :) The Lady Eagles earned their first win over the UE Amazons, 55-45. Apart from Treena Limengco, Karen...Tamaraws on Thursday, July 31st. I'm interested to see the impact of Mac Baracael's absence on the Tams, and I trust that the Blue Eagles will come prepared. They, too, have reason to win on Thursday
I haven't been able to watch any of the Lady Eagles' or Eaglets' games this season. I thought I would be able to do so after resigning from my job in preparation for going to graduate school in the fall...the class not to seek a "board room victory," and give the Blue Eagles a resounding smack upside their heads for yet another little, potentially costly mistake last weekend. Pay attention next time
In case you have been living under a rock and have no idea what's going on in the UAAP, I am happy to report that the Blue Eagles are now 3-0 and, as the only team without a loss thus far this season,...time to post game updates in the forums. Without you, there wouldn't be an online coverage thread and those of us who can't watch the games for whatever reason would go crazy @_@ So thank you so much
The Blue Eagles won their first (BIG) UAAP game yesterday, defeating the De La Salle University Green Archers, 79-73. It was a classic game that went down the wire, with big shots - and some big hits...glad it was a single-digit winning margin, considering that UST is a strong women's division contender this season, and that I hope to watch theLady Eagles in action so I can say more about them
The UAAP basketball season ended last Sunday, and as always, we have Good news. The good thing about this past season, as far as Ateneo is concerned, is that the Lady Eagles copped their second UAAP...in the post-season to make it to the finals. That's pretty awesome, and I think that things are bound to get even more awesome as this year's underclassmen mature and take over the reins of the team
Ateneo split its assignments last Saturday . The Lady Eagles defeated the UP Lady Maroons, 64-60, to take Game 1 of the UAAP women'sdivisionfinals. It was a close game for the most part, but Kat Quimpo...the sitting-pretty UE Red Warriors. (Ooh, so many color names!) I believe it can be done :) I leave you now with a link to an article in the New York Times about the Ateneo-La Salle rivalry
One reason I was initially so upset about last Saturday's loss to NU was because it made the post-eliminations so untidy. Ateneo could have locked second seed with the W, but they didn't and were forced...to watch theLady Eagles and Eaglets in their respective finals matchups on Saturday, too. (Did you hear that, boys? The women and children are in the finals - they're waiting for you to join them!
