Enjoying the Ride

...the notion that we need to be in control at all times. The flow is always taking you where you need to go. Itʼs just a matter of deciding whether you plan on taking the ride or dragging your feet. Learning to step into the flow can help you feel a connection to a force that is greater than you and is always there to support you. The decision to go with the flow can take courage because you are surrendering...

WHERE!? Where do I even begin this one? Do I begin it with how everything felt like it was starting to add up and just accumulate and nothing was getting done? Do I start with the post of how horried...this. So huzzah, I am back. I have arisen from the ashes (literally), and I cannot wait to catch up. If I need to get back into routine, this is just another way to start. w00t. okay. OKAY. Take care.

teachers learn too...

...first time I taught the lesson I had numerous areas on which I could improve.   In the final attempt, I applied new strategies that made the lesson better and more effective for the students overall learning opportunity. I began by having students clear everything from their desk but paper, a pen or pencil and the prompt.   I then asked students to tell me the parts of each element, and after we...

Learning Hebrew: Pimsleur Languages on CD

...that I can look at to confirm pronunciations. There were a couple of good things about the program.  The lessons, at 30 minutes a piece, were short enough to keep my attention.  Also, I felt like I was learning actually useful phrases, things that I might use if I were to ever go to Israel: "Do you speak English?"  I feel this is a giant benefit over programs that start you off learning nonsense phrases...

The Big Picture for Right Brained People

After nearly four decades, I've figured out something about myself: I'm not a big picture kind of gal.  I am obsessively detail oriented and have a hard time visualizing how details form into systems,... use small tasks to create the Big Picture.  Which is needed in order to write more efficiently and focus on plot, setting, & characters. Now I just need to find a way to fix my spelling and grammar..

Why teach cultural literacy in an ESL course?

...that is how our particular form of democracy operates thus leading to his down fall. Because culture   does not change very quickly, it is easy to integrate into ESL education. Today thanks to the internet learning English online is fun especially with cultural literacy to spice up the class. Culture and language are one so let’s teach them together but especially to ESL students.

So. I um, was just looking around for some references for some Doctor Who artwork I'm doing for school, most notibly I was looking at Cyberman referenced and I just noticed that they are actually really...would fall over and die if I met one of these things until I came across a creepy picture of three Cybermen in google image search. Huh? Just goes to show there's always more to learn about yourself

day off

Well, I think I'm going to be ill. I feel terrible. But, after all, I think I really need one day off. School is exhausting and I have enough for at least two years of learning and all this stuff. Honestly, who invented teachers?! So, that's all. Sometimes I like to moan a little and it helps. Now I'm going back to my french lessons, writing a big project for a language contest and reading, reading...
