States of Nature: Hobbes, Locke
This is a two for one post, since our reflection for last week is very closely linked to what we focused on in Locke. I do not agree with Hobbes that the state of nature is automatically worse than any sort of sovereign set-up. Even if I accept Hobbes' assertion that in the state of nature, man would be perpetually at war (well, little wars; competitive squabbles?), there are so many sovereign atrocities...
