Woo! What a whirlwind it's been since I've left the newsroom!  I've started this blog as a way to keep in better touch with all of my friends I've left behind.  I keep meaning to send a letter, or a postcard.... that one episode where Joey got buried in the sand on Friends? Came in third this year, thanks to the massive dual collapse by my two championship teams, UNC and UCLA. I knew that I needed a break from my little Napoleonic Wars obsession when I was watching UCLA fall apart, and thought, "It's just like the Imperial Guard at Waterloo. They'd never really had a test, and now they don't know how to handle the pressure and regroup." GEEK.

I came back to my room today to find a $25 ticketmaster gift card sitting on my desk with no explanation. Ben wasn't around, so I just shrugged and put it on my pile o'shit and moved on. A bit of luck, a bit of help from Memphis, and the Jayhawks are the national champs, and deservedly so, although the Tigers gave it away on missed free throws. I console myself with the observation that...get back to 3 Final Fours in 3 years, you have to be pretty satisfied, but still yearning for the crown. It's just not an entitlement, and when it finally comes, if it does, it's a great experience

i think i'm going to have to watch the versus texas-arlington game again because i was doing my reading more than watching the game and missing all the shots. :( i guess i'll watch it tomorrow... if i have time that is...

I'm glad that Kansas ended up winning the NCAA championships, but I was pretty much rooting for Memphis Tennessee because they haven't won the NCAA in about 30 years or something. That and my favorite...dorm room. Only to sleep. I've read two out of the three articles and I'm thinking about reading the third one tomorrow or at least read as much of it as I can before class. Two really fine teams, and a real champion emerging. If Memphis can be the same team that I saw on Saturday, I think they will win, on the strength of the strongest guard play this side of the NBA. Kansas...for either the Cardinal or the Lady Vols, but I really want Memphis to win, and maybe shellac the "What's the Matter with Kansas?" Jayhawks. Win this one for the sanitation workers! Go get, 'em, Tigers

While I am definately not a basketball fanatic by any means...I am super excited and totally revved up for the NCAA final tonight!   Memphis Memphis Memphis Memphis Memphis Memphis Memphis Memphis Memphis...for my morale if Memphis does lose.  So I shall not think of that!  Happy positive pink and blue thoughts! Or whatever that line is from the YaYa-hood. Funny how I'm not even going to watch it, though.

In all the shit of the last 4 days, I forgot to mention that my bracket is entirely dead. UCLA losing? Definitely did not improve my mood. Though I am kind of glad Kansas won, because they're cool like that. Even though they killed my bracket.
