Google Maps now includes "By public transportation" as an option when getting directions within the greater Boston area! http://tinyurl.com/mtvthl Huzzah!
The Red Line was experiencing delays (I love the passivity in the language the MBTA uses) tonight on my way home due to some problem at Harvard.
Right around Central, a uniformed T employee (the conductor?) emerges from the "cockpit" into the train car, and asks me, "Excuse me, can you tell me what time it is?"
Um...
I told her it was 6:42. Doesn't the train have a clock? Isn't this whole...
Child on the Red Line this morning, when the train stopped in the tunnel between Charles/MGH and Park Street:
I didn't know this was a station!

I've noticed that in the past 2 days, most of the trains on the Lowell line are blasting their horns as they roll thru the tufts / mid somerville area. Any idea if some ruling has been changed? It's getting old fast.
"In April, members of the Davis Square Tiles Project began an effort to track down the children - now between 35 and 45 years old - who created the artwork at the Somerville T station. Got a flyer at my door today advertising the Ball Square edition of a series of community meetings on the Green Line extension (warning: pdf link). They're being run by Groundwork Somerville , apparently. The next one is the Ball Square meeting on July 14, 6:15 - 8:15 pm (details available from the first link).

I'm not just looking for pictures of it - I'd love to get a layout of each MBTA station, including where the art is located within and outside the station. Thinking Google Earth might have it but am too new to the program to figure it out. Anybody have...

This morning I kept singing in my head this morning (from Lenten Taize at FCS UCC) (mostly in English, natch). I've frequently found myself singing bits of Taize chants we did during Lent at Rest and... and I don't love them in spite of or because of their bodies, I just love (and want) them inclusive of their bodies, and it's a really good reminder to me that, oh yeah, it works the other way, too
I've been looking for updates (such as what the hell happened and how could a person be trapped there?) but I cannot even find the name of the person. I thought more information was supposed to be released on Friday afternoon. Has anyone heard anything?
