I intended to do a more cohesive post about the Madrid episode, but after re-watching it for the kajillionth time, and also running the other two episodes in my head, I thought a meta post was more in order. I love Stag TV. It's absolutely brilliant. The production value is top notch, yet they feel like little home movies, the kind iLife claims you can do without Final Cut Pro. Damien and Francesco...
I absolutely love Pushing Daisies, you guys! Kisses through plastic wrap! Childhood sweethearts! Why isn't there already an AU?? Come on, it would make the perfect Ryan/Spencer. Also I have a giant crush on Lee Pace now. ( Read more ... )
I think one thing that I notice during these re-watches that it's actually quite surprising to see how Ryoutarou's relationships actually started out in the beginning, mostly because at the end of the...eventual form and abilities? Furthermore, I think it's revealed later that Imagins are basically fragments of memories of a destroyed world, but I probably need to watch out for that if it comes along
Just a small heads-up. I know that surestsmile is primarily a writing journal, but it's likely that I'll be turning it into a fandom archive as well. I'm not sure if people like getting meta thrown as them, so they'll mostly be backdated so that they won't show on the flist. However, there will probably be a slew of Den-O meta coming up, and they won't be backdated for, uh, several reasons...
Hey, remember that meta I wrote a while back on Dean as a Christ figure ? Well, I have some more evidence to back that up. In 4.07, Uriel tells Sam that he was told twice not to use his abilities, and if he erred again, he would be smote. The first thing that popped into my mind was the fact that if Sam used his powers again after Dean had told him not to, it would be the third time. He would...
Look at the Narnia books, where the women are the scariest villains. The White Witch seduces Edmund with sweets and uh, if you are more pure-minded than me and did not read that as coded sexy times, there's... ... Say what? PETER THE MAGNIFICENT: DON'T ASK ME TO TALK ABOUT IT! - mistful talks about gender and literature. Part of the post has already BEEN metaquote'd, or I'd quote this bit
I am glad to re-announce a new version
of my old piece of semi-useful software,
CL-Launch ,
an infrastructure to easily make your Common Lisp software
launchable from a Unix command line.
The...bitrotten.
This exercise in practical quining is of course free software,
though as usual beware my
End-Seller License .
Hopefully Debian will include this release faster than the previous one.
I read an essay about a new varient of Mary-Sue -- The Snappy-Sue by Kit Whitfield It's brilliant and to prove it, here's an extract:- A variant of Mary Sue becoming increasingly common in female...and independent and being pig-headed and arrogant. Why is this so difficult to understand? mistful also has an interesting essay on female characters that more or less has me going, hell yeah
Since no one really knows what this game is, and I've just been pimping it over at small_fandoms , this means pimp post!!! . What would happen if Harry Potter had the plot to Groundhog...they'd all be drinking to drown out the sorrow of not banging who they'd like to be banging. If you don't find the awesome in this, I do not know what to tell yo-- No wait I think I do. GET IT
