A bunch of people around me have been talking about identity politics lately in ways that frustrate me, and asking me questions about where I fall on binaries. In general, I tend to assume that if you're...some worksafe pictures this weekend instead. Though recent developments in class and work have cut into my spare time even more --- I probably should be working and not writing this --- so maybe not.)

So one of the issues that E and I had when we were first exploring this whole nonmonogamy thing is that neither of us felt entirely safe because we didn't know what was going on, and weren't communicating...tested here on a couple of fronts that don't merit explanation, in terms of making sure that I conduct myself with respect toward both others and myself, and I think I pass. It's pretty awesome.

So a couple of hours ago E asked me if I wanted to go with her to adopt a kitten. I didn't actually want to go (not because I don't adore kittens but because I wanted to get work done and didn't feel like... You'd think I would have been disabused of this notion at, oh, four years of age, but apparently these things stick around. I'm working on it! :) And I feel a whole lot better now. So lately more or less everything is good. I'm successfully balancing school, work, an active social life, hobbies, and my wonderful spouse E. This weekend we went to our first meetup-with-random-kinky...they give me to explore these new things. Which I think I am doing. So, rock. The boundaries are where I put them, which is a process, not a single step. Put that way, it almost sounds easy :

The author of the blog is a guy with a serious background in theory who...to deal with. Sometimes this is worth it, but much of the time I'd just as soon curl up on the couch with E and know that if mew at her and nuzzle up to her chest, she knows exactly what I mean.

So I talked to my mother about R and, in general, about the whole "oh my god do we have an open relationship or not" dilemma, and how in general we're not sure where we're going but it may be in that direction... And I'm excited to have a relationship where my partner and I acknowledge that trickiness, even if it doesn't mean actually doing much with it. But yeah! It went super well! My mom is awesome.

So a few days ago I had these mosquito bites on my inner thighs that were threatening to swell up and encompass my entire leg. It was kind of bad! So I was taking benadryl to deal with this, which surprisingly...like "I don't have time to up the intensity level" almost guarantees that some situation will show up encouraging me to do just that. Remind me to take it slow, if it does! I want to pass my classes.

(Catching up on journaling stuff from when I was on vacation; had a couple of things in particular I wanted to spend an entry on, I'll get to the other one eventually.) E and I sat down one afternoon...want to make sure I bring her gifts she will enjoy. She seems to really like watching me flirt with the girl at , like really enjoy , so maybe I am giving her something she wants, after all... :)

I'm headed home soon, to see E and my cat and my friends and my home (and my job), and that makes me happy, though I would also be happy if I were staying here in Los Angeles for another week or two. I...I can't actually tell. I am looking forward to curling up to sleep against E again.... I might just lie there awake the first night I am back so I can look at her and touch her and have her be there

I've been thinking a lot about what sort of non-monogamous situations actually appeal to me and the answers...small location.
