I just have to talk about how proud I am of my husband. :-) Some people, after a bad experience might have given up on a hobby or interest, but not Kevin. I can now say that Kevin is dancing with Alton...has spent almost all day writing the dances he will teach. I know how much he loves this and it has been part of his life for 30 years. It's also a wonderful tradition and I am glad he enjoys this
Oh for crying out loud! Having just recovered from an intense bout of sinusitis, and about to go on my holidays, I've done something to my left foot. It's all tender and swollen around the ball of my...of those unfortunate and painful afflictions that somehow seems comedic and by extension trifling, like bunions. I don't think it is gout though, I just think I put my foot down in a funny way
It's a good day today even though it has been rainy and dreary and I have the dreaded cold. I am feeling better but I am way behind in everything and I want to get caught up. We have a busy weekend coming...created more and had more ideas for things in the last two weeks than I have in three years! Now to get over this cold so I can invite some people around to create with me and maybe play some games
After being totally deceptive to Kevin last week, one of Kevin's ex-morris dance team members actually had the audacity to call Kevin's mobile with a number that Kevin didn't recognize so Kevin had to...thought this through before treating Kevin poorly?? Anyway, unless other idiocy ensues, this is the last I will be blogging on this and instead will focus on Kevin's new morris dance team. :-)
"It's nice to know that morris dancing can be fun again", said Kevin when he got home from morris dance practice. I think Kevin has danced with toxic people for so long that he has forgotten what people...every week. I have never, in the 5 1/2 years we have been together, seen him this happy when talking about dancing, even when Red Stags were dancing their best. I am tremendously happy for him. :-
WHOOT! Kevin is going to his new morris dancing practice tonight. I encouraged him. :-) They said that he would be more than welcome and that they are "short on blokes". :-) I love my husband so much and I support him and really want him to be happy. Also, this practice is less than 1/2 hour away and the other one was more than an hour commute.
I am worried. Suddenly I am finding an attractive side to morris dancing. A work colleague recently waved this website at me. Freaks in the Peaks are a band that meet quarterly to do a weekend of mayhem...village. I amy just be up for the January one, depending on the whole Celtic Connections time table of course. *I would like to see mexican morris dancers with guns instead of sticks ;-
Today is "Ash Thursday" - an annual excuse for a fairly low key performance by Blackheath Morris Men at their home pub, the excellent Ashburnham Arms (hence the rib-ticking play on words), Ashburnham Grove, Greenwich. From about 8.30pm - pop by if you're near, good beer (Shepherd Neame), nice pub, some nice blokes with bells and hankies...what more could you want?
Had a very pleasant evening last night dancing in the shadow of Greenwich Power Station with Blackheath Morris Men , and underneath the wonderful Greenwich laser. I've never been particularly impressed...Boris Johnson, this never happened when Ken was in charge. Nice to see the other team members again, and the ladies from Dacre Morris, I'm really hoping I can start going to more morris events soon
Blackheath Morris are having a dancing tour of Greenwich on Thursday night (tomorrow, that is), I shall be joining in after the children are a-bed, so might miss the first pub. This is the (slightly...up in the air, this one - will play by ear) Star and Garter , Old Woolwich Road by the power station. Dancing at 9.15 pm. Special guests will be the excellent ladies side Dacre Morris Much fun.
