Yesterday, my parents-in-law gave me The Holiday for my birthday. I've seen it before (with my mother and sister-in-law), and loved it then, which is why I wanted to own it. We watched it last night...post, but I'm really not a film critic and I know it, and I don't want to sound like too much of an idiot and have people be able to pick apart my main argument because of my lack of film knowledge
What, Kamen Rider actors and Tenimuyu stars doing something flamboyantly homosexual? Honestly, I should stop being surprised by this shit. I sat through RH Plus, I've seen the wannabe gay movies, but...this up) ...I am going to watch this just because of the sheer wtfery. The first episode had me loling pretty bad because of how absurd the whole thing is. Gekiuma FS is doing the subs
we can't shoot a dead woman! she might be someone's mother!" - Wesley LMAO! I went to see WANTED yesterday. Oh the hotness that is James McAvoy, I've loved every movie that I've seen him in. I...some victim in need of rescue by the end of it. Anyway I thought this movie was a lot of fun, its a good fantasy piece to just get lost in and not have to worry about real world BS going on around you
Watched this movie today. And it really is a cute romantic movie. It is based around a father, who is currently going through a divorce, who picked up his daughter from school, for his one night a week...out and there is more. I would recommend this movie if you are looking for a romantic movie, though I am not sure I would call it a romantic comedy. I think of it as kind of a chick lit movie
I finally got to see Sicko on the weekend. Is Sicko a well-made documentary? Yes. Does it show that the American healthcare system is crap and needs improvement? Yes. Does it show that the health care...the film does gloss over some significant problems with health care in countries like Australia (which is fairly low down on WHO's list anyway.) Saying all that, France looked pretty good, didn't it
We went and donated blood yesterday. I've done it twice before, in Australia, but Adam's never donated before. He's not a big fan of needles and "guts and blood" either, so I'm very proud of him for doing...is part of the magic. Knowing would spoil it. *sigh* I could practically smell it, while watching that movie. Smell the bush and the dry grass and red earth. Sometimes missing it makes my heart ache
Exciting day? Hip Hop For Hope -in general, it was amazing. Made me want to take hip hop, although I fail epically at it. -Vince's entertaining facial expressions have got NOTHING on the entertainment..."If I was going to get a nose job, I'd just bring in a picture of Cloud" - "I'm ready for the most babe-alicious showdown ever!" -"Haha the half dead orphan children are real live orphans!" WTF BRAIN?
The Mist (2007) Based on the glorious Stephen King novella, this was a worthy adaptation. Thomas Jane emoted like Pacino on crack, there was a 'Dark Tower' homage, the creatures were good and, oh, the ending was good. There were negatives: spelling out exactly what The Arrowhead Project was and the hero's disposable wife. Still I enjoyed it.
