Efter Eisenstein

I dag har jag varit ledig. (Prisad vare Gud .)

Pre-Class Musings.

...it seems I’m home like every damn weekend), see some friends, and catch up on sleep. At residence it’s a miracle if I get 6 hours of sleep a night. On the Tuesday, Sol and I went to the Royal Ontario Museum for the day. It was wonderful, but the transportation was a bit of a nightmare. No parking spaces at the Go Station, having to walk a quarter of a mile in the wind with no jackets and getting onto...

Art of war

The Costume Institute at the Met

I forgot to mention how excited I was to visit the Costume Institute at the Met yesterday! That was my main focus for the day (shhh! Don't tell my professor for my Northern European Ren art history class...I had wanted to see so many gowns I look at often on the Met online collection such as THESE . So who wants to do a trip to NYC to see the Met's costume collection in June when my semester is over

My trip to the Met!

I went to the Met today for a school field trip, and I took time to visit the 18th and 19th century European Paintings. Seeing these paintings live was awe inspiring! I had no idea they were so huge. I... (I think I need to do this gown) All but the Tissot were nearly life sized. It was incredible to see them "live". They are so much more remarkable and breathtaking!

Virginia Trip & Time with Nat Part 1

...like I had done most of what the city had to offer and kind of bored of it. So the next day thanks to advice from a guy I talked to at the hotel the night before I went to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum by the Dulles airport. 10/17 I was kind of surprised that there was a second location for the museum. The place ended up being REALLY big. I don’t think that there was an aircraft that wasn’t...

losing track

I've put off writing about last weekend for so long that I've forgotten about it. It's too bad, because I think of a lot of moments where I think: I can't Twitter this, but I need to remember it so I can... I have to admit: not worth it. Then we went to Mashti Malone's for some ice cream, which is totally worth it because their ice cream is super good. Yawn. Cute stuff happened, I forgot. The end!

Heckelphone Player

...to be on. Right now it's looking like some time in January, so 2009 will be a great year for seeing me on the gogglebox. As much fun as recording the show was making a quick visit to the British Museum in the hours between the BBC and the flight home. I'm a huge fan of London's museums (Natural History and Imperial War, in particular), but this one had eluded me previously. Not any more: three...
