I just bought some thin mints today. oh dear christ are they good. one box is on my desk; the other in the freezer. I'll probably be done sometime tonight. Meanwhile, armed conflict have escalated in the dorm rooms. As I type, a Nerf rifle rests on my lap, waiting the impending dart barrage my roommate Aki will unleash. If I don't report in by the week's end, it may already be too late.

...for me I don't have anyone to disappoint this year, though I doubt anyone I would end up with would ever be disappointed by a carefully picked out Transformer. I've lucked out in that regard so far. This year I've managed to celebrate Valentine's Day the best I possibly can: by watching DVDs of old 90's cartoons, shooting shit with a Nerf Gun, and drinking orange juice 'til I puke! Love is great.
So my oldest, Devon (pictured here in the blue hat), entered a YTV contest to win some Nerf gear. What we weren't expecting of course was that he would actually win. It was a freak random contest he saw on their website and as fate would have it - Devon was the Grand Prize winner! This is a boy who is so lucky that it's become a bit of a joke in our family that people should avoid playing...
I just did some modifications to a Nerf Maverick. It's the one that has the revolver type loading system. I made it so the chamber slides all the way to the side (instead of just half way), took out the air restrictors, and penny modded it to add more power to the spring. I painted it myself and plan to make a small steam gage for it once I get a chance.
You might remember when komochiko modified a Nerf gun for the Barbarian to use at GenCon this past year, turning it into a Steampunk Gun. Nerf modding is an active community, to be sure. But this is ratcheting it up to the next level. These guys have taken a Nerf Vulcan (itself a funky weapon...it's a chain-fed tripod mounted Nerf blaster) and modded it to fire about as fast as an M60. ...
