Jade in a Nutshell Jade is basically an "I-know-what-I-want-and-I-WILL-get-it" type of girl. It seems like she has no limits, but it's mostly her ignoring the little voice in her head. Sometimes, when both the voice and her gut are telling her it's a bad idea, she doesn't do it. Otherwise, she goes for the gold. Also, she very much loves her hair and lollipops...
It's been a while since I've done this, mostly because I've been both reading more of series I'd alreadyreviewed, and because I'd been trying to work my way through at least a couple of the urban-supernatural...that I think the book sucked, or was badly written, or that I won't read any more of them. Just that I didn't like it as much as I expected to after the build-up, and compared to the Taltos books.
picture taken fromNutshellBought this lemon eyegel from Nutshell kiosk located at Raffles Xchange today @ SGD 35.00. Tried it just now and i like the lemon smell and the light-weight of the gel. Compared to my AnnaSui eyecream, i would prefer this as it doesn't give me the sticky feeling. Anyway, the AnnaSui is already used to the very last dot!! back to the lemon eyegel, it certainly smells...
...I don't cheat all the time. I study... When I want to or when the subject interests me. So right now, my ultimate goal is to graduate, get my degree and my diploma. And that was me as a studentin a nutshell. I'm not proud of myself for cheating but I figure if people know I cheat, then it's not such a big deal. If you know your next door neighbor is a killer right off the bat, then you're good. It's...
Alright, I know about two zillion people have read this before me, long long ago (but not in a galaxy far far away, unless you count Chicago as such). But see my previous entry about, like, not letting...to take one of them out without a problem? Meh. Come on, I don't think even a council of mages/wizards is going to be all that separate from the Real World, ya know? This isn't Hogwartsafter all.
I was walking in the woods one day in June last year, and I ventured off the main trail onto this pathway I didn’t think I’d ever been on before. Just a few feet in, and it was so quiet, like a blanket...it up and felt a familiar warmth and tingling in my hand. I turned it over and read the words I had carved: “I love you.” And now, carved around the other side were the words, “I love you, too.
Yes, with this I should (finally) catch up on my booklogging duties. (Self-imposed duties, but still!) Now I can start building up a backlog again... (Although I doubt I'll booklog any further Taltos books...light fluff, which I was fairly much in the mood for, so in general I'd say it's probably more positive than negative. Not so much so, though, that I'd recommend everyone race out and buy a copy
The Book of Jhereg and The Book of Taltos by Steven Brust I'm not sure why I'm bothering to review these, since everyone and their dog has apparentlyalready read them. But I hadn't, so I'm doing...ful) assassins out there, to a "OMG stop the oppression, let's protest, people!" twit in no time flat? Losing her brains along the way to let her and her friends do Really Stupid Shit themselves?
I just recently did a huge catching-up post, and already have a backlog of three books/collections that I was planning to write about, so... I guess I'd better get on that. Shadows Return by Lynn Flewelling... and because there *is* some good stuff going on, but I definitely wouldn't start with this book if you've never read any in the series. You'd probably want to go find Luck in the Shadows for that
I'd just like to note that I'm actually playing catchup with some books I've read semi-demi-hemi-recently, not that I'm reviewing an actual book named "Playing Catchup" or anything. Anyhow, that out of...books, which I wouldn't really be saying much different for each particular one.) But this should be enough to somewhat catch me up, at least. Sorry about the gaping silence on this front for a while..
