The Cowbyre has it all today. Ok, Hubby & I spent the hours between 5am and 11am madly reconciling our end-of-year accounts so our lovely, lovely accountant could come over and do a site visit at 11.30am... I also have been warned that the dress code for the pre-conference is mostly "Business Casual" except for the day that is "Very Casual" as we will be taking a walk through a botanical garden in
I'm down to the quietly going mad stage of travel preparations. Today I bought a US power adaptor. Also a set of the toiletry bottles you are allowed to take on the plane with you. My folding toothbrush...plan to use email etc. when wifi is available. It's very available where I am going. I'm considering blocking incoming calls from Australia, and just asking my contacts to SMS me, which costs less
I thought I had time to lj today but NO freaking packing Am off to dearest grandmamas today, back wednesday. Now remember last time when I said my goodbyes and went and actually got signal there?? Could happen again. Could not. We'll just have to see. The point is, regardless of whether I get signal or not, I may not be able to lj as much or something... So I'll try and keep up and all but link...
I've been packing most of the day, though it seems that there's little progress. One of the problems is sorting out the junk from the stuff that I need to keep. It's temping to just throw all of the boxes into the trailer and nevermind sorting anything, but I can't really do that. Part of the reason is that it will just make things worse in the long run, and secondly (and more importantly)...
...I only managed to get about 40% of what I needed done. I still have to pack, load the trailer, get the other 60% of the items I need, and attend the AGM of the Miniature Horse Club on Saturday. Packing also involves moving some large furniture, which I certainly can't do by myself, but trying to coordinate times with others is almost as futile an effort. I think that's what brought on the near...
I have no roof. Well, I guess our bedroom ceiling is now technically our roof – but that peaked thing with shingles and gutters? It’s currently in a confetti of pieces across my yard and in my bushes...see a finished product. I look around and see board and beams – and then I stumble over a scrap of wood. I guess I’ll just have to be patient and wait – but when have I ever been good at that?
Does anybody else find washing and corn-starching their soft packer to be an incredibly odd experience? It's just strange to be able to hold it in my hand at the level of the sink, and rotate it 360 degrees for starching. I guess because I identify the packer as *me*, but this is an activity that forces me to recognize that it's not attached.
...just as much time and effort to pack for a weekend trip as it does for a week long trip. Maybe it is just me. The Dance Competition is this weekend and we are staying over night so I have been packing, doing laundry, and had to run to the commissary. I hate packing. I have lists all over the place...and lists to find my lists. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to worry about packing...
