wore this last sunday to host a meetup at my house. the gold shoes were a bit of an experiment but i think they worked? rundown: corduroy headbow: borrowed off a fanplusfriend dress cardi: faith 21 jewelry: selfmade, h&m dress: selfmade tights: old navy or something, probably gold shoes: one day in paradise thanks for looking!
finally as in i'm just posting it now. i actually finished it in time to wear it on halloween :P i went to a lolita tea party on halloween that was gothic-themed. most of my stuff is black or dark colors...good shot of the dress. i'm pretty satisfied with it. in the daytime photos it was doing some weird boob-smashing thing, but i don't know if that was an issue with the dress, or just my bra.
it's been a while since i've posted, so here's some catch-up. september 27th for a small meetup at the nature museum on free museum day. bow: selfmade jewelry: forever 21/old navy/selfmade cardigan...see anyways: one day in paradise) hopefully i'll post again soon -- i finished two new dresses this week to wear to another craft fair, but failed to get photos. happy belated lolita day, everyone!
i need linings before i can start the stuff in my last registration post. so in the meantime i started a new dress... Project Registration/Update Form (since i started it already) Project Title ...that i haven't had good sunlight in my apartment to check) or if it is distracting from the sailor feel? i could easily save the sailor for something else (and be off the hook for that collar :p)
since it's the end of the july and i have several fabrics that were meant for summer projects. projected deadline on all of these is "before summer weather ends" but since it's not really been very hot...to coordinate into an outfit. but... unicorns!! i also need to figure out my project for the period lolita contest and register that. but i'm being really indecisive between two cool options, bleh.
Project Completion Form Project Title: another strawberrygingham dress Project Start Date: i think i cut it out on 6/24 but did most of the sewing 6/27 Planned Finish Date: 6/27 Actual Finish...that i think the dress needed. as another detail i put a little felt strawberry on the bow (attached with a jump ring and a jewelry clasp, so i can remove it when i launder the dress). photos:
first, the project registration. (all the pictures here link to bigger versions on my flickr btw.) Project Title : another strawberrygingham dress Short Project Description: basic jsk with pleats...a triumph that i got to bed at a decent hour the night before the tea :) i need to register more things and stop procrastinating! (and decide on a period lolita idea for the contest....)
i missed a big meetup last week thanks to some trouble with my back, and i also wasn't quite healed enough for playing lolita laser tag yesterday on ILD, so i dressed up a bit today instead to go... shoes: anna house jewelry: selfmade, f21 and h&m oh, and this is my cat wembley. since she kept walking by so that her butt or tail would be in the photo, i decided she needed some camera time.
the chicago lolitas went back to the ritz-carlton on sunday for a mother-daughter tea (the weekend after actualmother's day since that weekend was taken over by acen). sadly my mom wasn't along...from snow white, with little bits of metallic gold): p.s. i have more photos of the day here (mostly candids & silliness though, and i forgot to take photos of the actual tea/food, whoops).
i'm indecisive about how to trim the edge of a bodice. i'm finally finishing a project i started ages ago -- a jsk out of some gingham with strawberries. i already did a pleated hem ruffle where the...at the hem seem arbitrary? the only other way to tie them in would be to trim bows with them: one for my hair and one for the dress to go either at the waist or the bodice... opinions please?
