Anyone have construction suggestions for petticoats? I've done a few in the 'attach frills of tulle to basic skirt pattern' style, as per Gosu Roris and the standard tutorials, but I have the issue of...on corded petticoats and bustle pads? I'm working on a few period-inspired pieces -- late Victorian bustles and some earlier styles -- and I'm trying to avoid cages and boning for as long as possible :

Actual Finish Date: 08-10-08 Did you make changes from original...didn't put in as much effort as I normally would, so the finish is kind of rough.  It did teach me I like this kind of shape though, so that was worth it! Also makes a great Summer dress.

So my chemise dress came out pretty, but is a lot of fabric and foundation garments for a party outside in the Virgina Summer sun! I was fabric stash building last week, so now I'm working on another Summer... Short dress with a cool double sided train could be interesting? Update So far: I've drafted a whole new bodice pattern that I'm feeling happier with and looking forward to sewing it all up soon.
