A Bit of Emo French Poetry.

Why? Because this is beautiful and hard to say and I need to stick it in a place where I can find it again at a moment's notice. Chanson d’Automne Paul Verlaine (1844–1896) LES sanglots longs... Tout suffocant Et blême, quand Sonne l’heure, Je me souviens Des jours anciens Et je pleure; Et je m’en vais Au vent mauvais Qui m’emporte Deçà, delà, Pareil à la Feuille morte.

i've lost respect for cool beans

i've lost respect for cool beans because they wouldn't let me read my poem about my vagina. mahvash and i agreed that we need to find some other place to go. somewhere in the city, maybe. i read the korean...that are suitably distressed and my new black button-down collared shirt and my new earrings. i think i look strange with my shaved head and these elaborate earrings, but hey, it's a look, right?

reading, writing, scheduling

You are lovely. You came all that way and you paid money to sit in that stifling hot room. It was amazing to have you there. I was really, really, one-more-really-for-each-of-you touched. You are Just...you are good. Thank you again. *All this looks rather like namedropping, but I'm trying to Give Credit Where Credit is Due, point people at their books, and offer a little awe here and there. {rf

a nattering of scattergories

I was nervous about the reading tonight. Then I went and got a case of sunstroke. Now I'm fine. Dizzy, but fine. I'm still going to the reading, o yes. I wouldn't give up the opportunity to read while...with a T, one with flames). These are all good in their way, but I think I need a hat hat. Not a fedora. A fat man can't wear a fedora. Everyone would expect me to be able to play an instrument. {rf

For Lo, It Came To Be Asked, What The Hell Are You Doing?

Sunday, 27 May 2007, I will be marching in the Somerville Memorial Day Parade with the Somerville Garden Club (I am a member and the club Secretary). 1pm to whenever-the-hell we get to Teele Square...7:30pm, but it looks like this is a weekly event that starts at 7pm. I'm sure things will be clearer the closer it gets. Or, perhaps I should say, I will make things clearer as the time approaches

A Roust of Readings

which is what a group of readings is called, right?  Granted, it's not often you get to see them in the wild as they've generally been hunted into near extinction.  The fact that they are solitary beasts...future I'll have a real post, I'm sure, and your bi-weekly fix on my life will be... fixed. Until then, watch out for wandering rousts.  They seem tame, really, but can be quite vicious when hungry.

Silence between the notes

This is a poem I wrote about what silence is. This was my contribution to poetry as art in a tribute to John Cage, called Silent Series, story number fifty-six. Drum roll. beat, cymbals. Rrrrrrrip!...moon hovering over the half-hearted Drive. A young man in torn jeans limped on one crutch, shouting at someone who owed him money. I missed the bus and began walking. I was happy to be the silence
