After leaving Orlando and making my way towards New Jersey for Chiller Theatre, I had a couple days to kill, so I decided to spend a day and a half in Providence, Rhode Island, since that would leave me only 3 hours from Parsippany, NJ, where Chiller takes place. Plus, I'd be able to wander in H. P. Lovecraft's footsteps. So, I pricelined a couple nights at the harbor Radisson ($59/night for a $124/night...

Rhode Island officially has the highest unemployment rate in the country . But why is that, really? Cop-out answers include that Carcieri is an asshole. Okay, given. Nick's theory is just that Rhode...is based on non-profits and government jobs, both of which are incredibly threatened under this new recession. Anyone else have any theories? I'm curious to see if there are things I'm forgetting

I've gotten two midterms back so far and aced them both: Introduction to Sacred Scripture and Metaphysics. We were allowed a "midterm holiday" which began on Wednesday and ends later tonight, so I went...I deserve. and I went on a pilgrimage to different churches within the city of San Francisco, along with a teacher from Sacramento State who organized the trip, and about thirty other pilgrims.

...so I really have no excuse now.  He was a tremendous influence upon me and still is.  In fact, he told me today something which I had been thinking for quite some time, namely the idea that I'm still in this job for a reason.  As much as I hate this job, Providence has me there for a purpose.  Perhaps later in life I'll know with the luxury of hindsight, but for now I'm content to trust in the Lord.
