...us getting married on Halloween. She is totallyagainst the idea of us getting married on "the day of the dead." And we fear that she is going to suddenly decide to not allow us to have our wedding/reception at her home. SO! It's back to finding a new venue. It's easier to pull out now on our terms than hers. Has anyone gone through anything similar? it was such a hassle to find a place the first...
I cannot seem to phrase any questions I have succinctly enough tonight, so I'm putting this in bullet form. I'm really in love with the idea of having BBQ at the reception, but November 14th (09) for dinner will be a bit cold on the banks of a river. Would a 12pm ceremony with photos beforehand put you off? That could theoretically put you eating around 1pm (totally doing pre-ceremony photos). Should...
My FH and I are hoping to have our wedding in a park (tbd) and have my family make the food (en masse, aunts, uncles the whole lot). We will obviously have to renttables and chairs, and probably linens...dishes? Should we go Goodwill shopping for tons and tons and tons of plain dishes? Should we just give up on the whole thing? That being said, do caterers usually/ever provide dishes with their food
Holy hell crap balls. We have about 6 months to go. Six months. That is it. And OMG there is so much to do. BRAINFREAK OUT! ARG! My poor little brain does not like this whole running out of time thing...to plan this wedding. I do not have the time to make cute little DIY things that I very much want to make. I have no idea how we are going to get all this done. And I am honestly freaking out over it
...for both to be delivered yesterday when I knew he wouldn't be here!!!! Can you say dickheads??? I got no housework done yesterday because I was trying to get hold of people to book a viewing for the reception hall and bridal suites. But all I got was answer phones or kept on hold for 7856934785686 hours only to be told, I can just turn up when I like. Evan is insisting that everytime I tidy a room...
Ok so we are deciding between two venues for our wedding and reception right now. We are going to have both the ceremony and reception at the same place so here is the thing...Place one is bigger and would be easier to hold both things but it is more expensive because we have to rent out the room and pay for catering. Place two is a lot smaller but we would only have to pay for the food and the people...
... but my mom says that having the ceremony around noon or 1:00pm would be good, but I have two issues with that: A) that'd be kind of a late lunch for some, especially if we opt to do photos between ceremony/reception, and B) outdoor lighting at noon is not good for photography. Shadows on the faces, etc.. but 10 would be really early for lunch to come after without a massive break. Any ideas?
So I bought my wedding gown tonight. I went on David's Bridal's website tonight to look at something, noticed that they had a sale, and went to look up my current front runner's sale price. When, lo...with a florist and trying to better scope out my venue with the wedding coordinator. We also sent out our save the date magnets, which seem to have been received well. Less than eight months to go!
Friday: Home. Ran to the liquor store and to Fred Meyer for beer. ha! We drink so much. Terrible, terrible. ;) To the house. Made pizza, ate pizza, made another pizza, watched Sweeny Todd. All was...going to the concert, but decided we didn't need to spend the money and I wasn't really feeling up to it. Drinks and to WinCo for groceries (and junk food... *sigh*) Home. Snacks and Futurama.
...good news, and more good news. We met with our photographers the other day to go over our engagement session, and order some prints. Also, we have decided on a place to have both the ceremony and the reception. And they will both be at the same place. It's called the Hamlin House . Please click to look at it, if you have time. The wedding page has more pictures, too. We are so excited! It's an old...
