My new fridge came in today! Despite my picking the smallest of the kitchen-sized fridges. it just baaarely fits in below my cabinets. It's also deeper than my old fridge, so it comes out beyond my cabinets...boxes? I'd make a sammitch to celebrate, but I don't have any bread 'cause I did no baking or grocery shopping last week to minimize the food transfer load. Oh well, bacon & eggs is pretty festive too
Today I packed up my office. My company is moving from the 9th to the 2nd floor of the same building. Yippee. All day, putting things into banker's boxes and making out moving labels and getting a vile...when I have to put my new office together again. And I gotta buy a cooler to put milk and frozen stuff in when they swap out my fridge on Saturday. I bet you wish your life was as thrilling as mine
The fridge I bought yesterday turned out to me just an inch too tall for the space I have for it. Argh. So I went back today and explained the situation, and got a different fridge that's about 2 inches...cheerfully and he's gonna get a nice report from me in the Optional Online Survey Thing referenced on the receipt. I've even got the same delivery date, next Saturday. Homeownership is SUCH a blast
Today I bought a new toy. I can justify the cost, knowing how much I'll use it. I got me a fridge. My old one is, I may have mentioned before, still working, but showing signs of mortality. I figgered...on a sweet sale, $10 for a 30-count box. Yay for impulse buying. I looked at phone/answering machine combos 'cause mine is crapping out, but didn't get one. I figured I'd spent enough for one day
Well, at least it has for my possessions. A tip: if you think there's something wrong with your refrigerator, call and have someone check it. If you wait, it'll just get worse. Our home warranty is covering it, but they're adding a layer of bureacracy, like not really wanting to fix it--it's over 10 years old, but wanting to apply the money it'll cost to fix it towards the purchase of a new one. ...
...afford, and I am not going to get into making payments. Also, I did give him a heads up that my frig will need replacing soon. It's one of those old ones with just a freezer compartment in a 1-door refrigerator. If I turn up the temp high enough to keep things frozen in the freezer compartment, then stuff in the frig section also tends to freeze and if I turn it down just enough to keep the stuff...
Discoveries in the work fridge, #1: I imagine this is orange juice, but the concentrate seems to have crystallized within the water... Work fridge discoveries, #2: Is there any actual food...made homemade pizza and Chris wrapped the leftovers: Awlive Pizza, Pep!...Er..., and Pie n'Apple. Night falls as I leave the library. An ominous sky above my in-laws' neighborhood.
...falling on our heads every time we open and close the door. You always have to look up and see if anything is teetering on the edge, and push it back a little to forestall the inevitable drop. The refrigerator also seems to be unnaturally cold. Now, we could adjust the thermostat, but it controls the entire fridge, and the freezer is not too cold, it's just about right. So to keep the freezer.....
...kitchen and household appliances. The first part of doing your own appliance repair is to figure out what part might be causing the problem. Is your washing machine not spinning? Is your refrigerator no longer cooling ? Is your gas oven no longer heating? This will give you a general idea on where to look on an appliance and where to begin troubleshooting. Before attempting any repairs...
...like never before. Good for you! Life is so much easier when we’re organized. But, there is another “closet” in your house that’s not getting the same focus. Your “cold closet”… better known as your refrigerator. Look at your refrigerator like a closet. It has drawers, storage bins, specialized storage spaces, and even a light. Your refrigerator already has everything that an organized closet should...
