Most of you (that have been to the house or follow my stunningly interesting remodeling posts) probably know that I collect Arts & Crafts Tiles , all Motowi so far. Today I got my first Arts & Crafts...tiles.) This is what happens when you get older, your stuff has names. Sometimes series numbers. I have some other unrelated art coming in, one an AP, one an unknown number. We'll see what happens

One of my recent resolutions has been to be a better homemaker.  My house is being remodeled and I work full time, so things just kinda slip.  So I've set myself up with a schedule and I do tend to keep...week, either toss, recycle or give away.  I think I'm going to give it a shot. Any other challenges like this?  Seems like I need some kind of structure to get me going and make sure I stay on track

Sigh . Our back yard looks like a giant mole hole. Or perhaps an archeology dig. My long hours of endless weeding have been made moot. The front yard's no better. There's a tractor, big humps...pipes is completed. It was exhausting, exhilarating and stressful--simultaneously.  It was one of those times that only chocolate could help. Thanks Norm! (Next time I'll save some for Lori.)

Not much visible progress this week, but things still got done.  We had rain during the first part of the week, so anything outside was halted for the most part.  The vinyl flooring was ripped out on...arrived this week. Yay!  Now have to figure out if there's a way to fake small gauge chain by crocheting it, because buying it is TOOOOO expensive.  And I have about 2 weeks left to get it all done.

It's been a couple of very busy days!  The roof has been boxed in on the back of the house and husband has primed and painted.  It didn't look like the builders accomplished too much, but I'm sure they...get it all done.  We are stiff and sore and TIRED!  But now we are done and it is all up to the cabinetmaker, plumber, flooring guy, carpenters, and electrician (whoops! that's us!)    

The windows are in! It's really incredible, and the photos do not do it justice! There is so much light! Plus, it kind of dwarfs the living room, but it looks fabulous! The weather has been a little nippy...get done by the end of this week. Plan to do some sewing, but not much. And pretty simple stuff. So I have to go fabric shopping Saturday and get this done! PS. Happy Birthday, Mom!  

Didn't seem like a lot of progress was made on Friday.  The siding went up on some of the south side, including where the kitchen door was.  I needed to leave the house around noon, and builders were gone...is giving me an upset stomach!  We have a lot of decisions to make and I would like to get that done this week.  Plan to take out the rest of the cabinets by next Saturday.  Yikes!   

A few weeks ago I started replacing the horrible old carpet in my house with hardwood flooring. My partner and I were both going to be doing the work and in theory it should go fairly fast.   ...in the master bedroom, hallway, and hall closet. No more humpy, squeeky floors! Yay!        Up next weekend: finish hanging and mudding drywall in the master bathroom! Wheeee!

Been a crappy couple of days. An old friend died after falling from his roof. In addition to that sadness, it makes me even more paranoid about M getting on our roof, which he needs to do in order to...paint the kitchen. I have a 'hood House Tour meeting tonight as well, so nothing for tonight, and then we have work on the trailer soon as well, plus our respective California trips coming up. Argh
