Halloween-ish Pics

Me, last night at a party with Cat [making faces because of all the drunkety drunks]. Love the "pannier" of my two bolster pillows from Ross safety pinned to my jeans underneath. Classy. I'm also wearing sneakers. laugh

Halloween!-ish

So went out to Halloween party of an fx make-up artist friend I hadn't seen in a while. Feel the gulf widening ever more between me and Hollywood/film, including work friends. Don't quite know what to...car as it is! Here's last year's pic-- same as this year, minus a bunch of weight and my hair's not powdered this time [better 'hoops' shape, too]: My bust is about half that these days.. laugh

Jefferson in Paris

Threw in this dvd as background noise whilst sewing, then was distracted by the hair/costumes, and just realized I've been watching it.. laugh What a terrible movie. But the hair is amazing. Like this...and dusty, shoved crookedly on the end of a rack somewhere without a label. So typical of the film industry-- use it up, break it down, repair only the absolute minimum if you have to. Respect nothing

The Duchess

Saw this tonight with Cat.. was okay. Slow, but not bad. Costumes were great, not too showboat-y, but some really nice pieces. The hats were.. UNBELIEVABLE. The first time I've EVER seen hats of that era...you don't care about Keira Knightley, you'll be bored out of your mind. And why are you reading this journal, anyhow? It's all about corsets. Maybe you would like it, then, you fancy lad, you.

but iii don't feel like dancing -- I feel like posting!

...pretty good Lolita high for about a week now (Gee THANKS, Marie Antoinette) ...but if any fashion lifestyle were to "suit" me, it would be Lolita.  Particularly Sweet Lolita, with it's basis in Rococo era ideals and styles.  Why?  Because Lolita is all about decadence.  Decadent is the best word in the world to describe me.  Lazy, with urges to do only the things I like and nothing but - drawing...

Kodona Tights?

How much of a demand is there for Rococo style clothing for men? More specifically, why haven’t I seen any men or girls in boystyle wearing tights? Tights were standard for hundreds of years until the Victorian era. Aristocrat takes more influence from Victorian than Rococo, but I’m surprised that I can’t think of any Kodona outfits with tights. (Please prove me wrong with that.) Despite my current...

"Louis XV" by Juergen Teller & Charlotte Rampling

I am so in awe of this book's concept & execution. I really want to buy it. I think I shall. Do you think I should? It's just so frank and hillarious.
