Babylon A.D. could have been good. It has a wonderful French director. (Mathieu Kassovitz was responsible for the remarkable La Haine ; he wasn't just Audrey Tautou's photobooth cutie.) It's based...is that the DVD is a director's cut, and even then... It still will never be the way it exists ideally in my mind: cheaper, and wordier, with Vincent Cassel, decent choreography, and no snowmobiles.
I’ve been watching an old 1940s Flash Gordon movie serial and quite enjoying it, so I thought I should check out the 1980 movie version, having heard good things about it. When I checked with Quickflix...amusing if you’re in the mood, and best enjoyed with copious quantities of alcohol or other substances. I found that after a few drinks it was reasonably enjoyable. Do not watch this movie sober.

I saw this at a drive-in when I was eight-years-old, and it's just as weird as I remember it. Starcrash is an Italian sci-fi film that attempted to cash in on the Star Wars craze. It is one of the...a lot of weird sounds, odd lighting, and flashes of light thrown around at random. You have to see this film to believe it. Or, at the very least, you have to see Caroline Munro in a leather bikini.
Well, crap - Tennant's leaving Who after the four 2009 specials. He was remarkable in the role, but I suppose it'll continue on, just as 9 other actors did...
Just a quick journal entry to say how sad I am to hear that David Tennant's stepping down as the Doctorat the end of the four 2009 specials. I have to admit that the announcement speech had me shed...to Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant for keeping my lifelong fandom alive and well so fantastically these last four years, and here's to many more with the next Doctor, show runner and producer
