First of all consider this question: Why do you need one?   If you are selling your home:   A Realtor can provide a comprehensive market analysis of the current...to take care of it yourself, you would hire a CPA to help you.   Why would you expect to take care of the largest investment of your life without the help of a professional, a Realtor?  

 Kitchens sell homes.  That is because the kitchen is probably the most important room in the house to a buyer.  Size, quantity of counter space or cabinets, presence of an island,eating bar or eating... but remember to use only a portion.  Buyers need to see the size of these areas and will not be able to if they are too full.  Have a garage sale or donate to your favorite charity.
