My first DRAGON*CON

...there were about 400 people in line in front of me. An hour and a half later, badge and program in hand, I noticed the line had grown to about 1,000 people. I worked on Set Charge for Horse, reread _The Curse of Chalion_ and watched "On Guard," a fun French costume drama, based on a Dumas novel with lots of sword play this evening. It was fun.

. Всё "свободное время" на прошедшей неделе OCRил (во благо всех живых существ) повесть Романа Подольного " Согласен быть вторым ". Антология пополняется всё медленнее и медленнее, теперь уже не только... и тому подобной лабуды. Но повесть хорошая, а диалог: - Вы пятнадцатью сутками не отделаетесь! Тут большим сроком пахнет! - Вы правы. Речь здесь идет о вечности. это просто пять с плюсом! :))

Piper At The Gates Of Doom

...being the only ones I'm sure of -- reading the whole stretch of it as a (relatively) educated adult instead of an omnivorous 14-year-old made an interesting comparison, not just with other SF authors, but with other acts of reading. My recent memories of re-reading all of HPL last year came back in force; I was seeing things that I'm fairly certain I simply couldn't have noticed as a teenager...
