I noticed the buds on the Christmas cactus a week or two ago and they looked rather large for starting flowering around Thanksgiving. Indeed, the first one has now opened up. It's really recovered... so haven't chomped away the last 1/6th or so of long leaf chains. The flower is on one of the short, newly regrown ones. Plenty more are coming, the second should be open in another day or two.
