So I haven't updated in over a week. Why? Because I'm BUSY. all. the. time. :P But as of the last entry... We got a lesson with Julie on Thursday!!! We worked on spiraling in and out of circles, breaking...so I have all week, and I'm still thinking up a plan for him. More spiral circles? More Martingale work plain trot poles maybe some canter poles? Turn on the forehand again? Trail ride would be nice
The first discussion occured today. But not really... We did the normal lounging warm up and walking. It was the trot that really didn't work out. It hink it was the dressage whip- because I only use...on sale. So, just a short update, despite the fact that its been a week and we've done a LOT of good cantering, this is what I've got. So I've got some AWESOME videos I'm still uploading and stuff
So. Exciting things tonight. I actually wasn't as tired as I thought I was going to be after work [I was tired after work, but you know how it is, you smell the barn and enevery just FLOWS into you!] So...horse! So - I'm thinking WTC, working on forward trot, circles in the trot, walk-trot transitions, and trot-canter transitions [just getting the canter would be awesome!] and I'll go from there
So I haven't been able to update lately. I haven't gotten a call from the Connemara lady, but I'm being kept busy at work. Pour l'example: I'm working usually 4-10pm, although she wants me at 2-10pm, but...the seatbelt, a stiff neck and a stiff back - all from bracing myself. So I'm going to go ride Griff tonight and we'll see how stiff I am when I get off 7.5 hours of work. Yeah. I know. We'll see
So I haven't updated in a few days, but I've been busy, well, and lazy. Plus, I had a super-long entry the other day and forgot to copy it, then LJ ATE IT! So I'm not very happy about that. But he's...lady I met at BRU on Friday. She’s looking to reduce herd size and needs some help. So we’ll see about doing that in my spare time! Its been a great weekend - I hope the week pans out just as well!
So its been a week! I treated Griff's foot as an absesss, as the vet said. I couldn't find some of the ingrediants for poultice, so I went to tractor supply. They were out of poultice! so WTF mate...probably going to go riding tomorrow on the trails now that I have good control. Tonight: riding outside if the ground is good. Whoa, steering, and forward - maybe do poles again. We'll see!!!
So I've been too busy trying to find a new job to really work with Griff too much. The last time I worked with him was... Thursday? Or friday, I can't remember. I put him on the cross ties, mounted up...FEET OMGOSH FEET PLEASE NOW! worm mounting forward Feeding: grass.... all the time 1 scoop beet pulp [evenings when he comes inside] 2 handfuls Senior feed temporarily off jello until his feet get don
So!! Hello! Guess what I did yesterday? Yup! It was really awesome, considering. He was an ass in the crossties, and with picking his feet [sounds like we need to do it twice a day then! No mis-haps...!! Except, now we're going to lead him around a bit, stretch his neck with the 'reins' and dismount from the correct side. So basically tonight is a repeat night! I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED!!! +J
Well now, its been a while. Why? Because the gate's not here, Griff's getting moved soon, and I haven't had any time to work with him until last night. Why? Because Sheila dumped Kaa-san's three-year-old...1/4 packet jello Think about: calling- Lisa [trailering] Sheila [boarding] Dr Turner [teeth- Trypton's sheath?, self-vaccinating] Dan [feet] Future Ideas: BOARDING er... I'm fresh out, too tired
The other night became a night of good things. I ended up grooming the boy, picking all his feet [he's gotten so good at that, hardly a resistance at all, and picks up when I give him the voice command...to start, to keep him from getting girthy. Lounging? Oh my gosh, when can we start?! Ponying- SOON. Turnout: 6 hours on Wednesday afternoon Last night 0 [raining] This morning 0 [too wet] +J
