Единственное, что удивило - это большие тормоза, по сравнению со всем остальным, но это пока субъективно. Слака славится своей стабильностью, но за это приходится платить использованием далеко не самого (скажем прямо: совсем не самого) свежего софта. Даже firefox...
Как бы я раньше не кричал что бубунту - кака, но вчера сам сменил свою Slackware 12.0 на XUbuntu 8.04 Аж непривычно как-то... все работает, еще даже не ебалсо... капец

All I wanted to do was test my newly burned Slackware 12.1 CD-ROMs. So I got out an old PC with Pentium II processor, 448Mb RAM and an 8.5Gb hard disk. I've used it before for Slackware testing, and it had 12.0 on it. First thing, make sure 12.0 is OK, then blow it away with a fresh install of 12.1. Решил сообственно для ускорения работы компа поставить использовать вместо тяжеловатого XFCE4 использоватть BlackBox. На диске слаки 12 есть две версии этой оболочки - одна находится в slackware/xap/ другая в extra/blackbox/blackbox-0.70.1/.. я выбрал последнюю.
