Paul's comment in the plan discussion about him being old and of no use got me to thinking of something interesting I got out of watching the latest Alaska Experiement episode. Before the end of the first...something. Granted he caught nothing either but it would have been nice of him to pass along some of what he knows to make his group better able. Since he wasn't offering, they should have asked.

I'm a Deadliest Catch junkie so last night as I watched the season opener Discovery advertised a new season of The Alaska Experiment. This time the challenge is for a team of people with minimal supplies... I expect they will cover what works and the consequences of what doesn't. The show is Tuesdays at 10PM on Discovery Channel and is called Out Of The Wild: The Alaska Experiment . I'm setting my DVR.

I’m reading an open source information website and I see this picture linking to a site about the downside of software patents. I appreciate the elegance with which this picture sums up the argument...thing. If everybody does that we all progress faster and live better. I gladly welcome respectful and thoughtful opposing views so that I can gain a better understanding this issue.
