I wrote this list as the alternative to “The Male Privileges Checklist” (as it seemed only fair). I agree with some of the other list and thought a Female one would bring a bit of balance to the debate...is really an irrelevant thing for a person to be judged on. I’d much rather judge someone on an individual basis because real people don’t always just magically slot into categories. TruthSage
Oh, Chris, I had no idea. There I was, googling to in order to procrastinate work that I need to do. I was looking for Chris Connelly articles to read, so I could imagine that Scottish accent...SIT DOWN. He creeps me out. Anyway, I better go, I need to be doing things. I promise myself I would work on homework and such during my free hours after Social Psych. I will. I WILL. :) Later Michell
This study came acrossmy desk(top) today: Two experiments examined reactions to line-intrusion scenarios among fans of the rock group U2 waiting in overnight lines to obtain desirable concert...do research, by hanging out at U2 concerts. Also, they did just the the participants questionnaires describing people cutting line. Back in the day, you'd actually have a confederate cut line.
I started classes today. So far, I enjoy them immensely, although that is subject to change if my teachers get any crazier. I had Social Psychology at 8AM this morning. I sat in the third row of tables...from HS on my computer. Delicious. Anyway, all in all, a brilliant day marked by being made an example of in two very different situations. TL;DR: I'm a conformist and I speak Spanish. XX - Michell

We have been watching recently a documentary series begun by British director Michael Apted in 1964 and spanning 42 years called the Up series. For those of you not up to speed with obscure films, it...aware of his options than the others. No, we cannot say with certainty where life will take us, but as for me anyway, I am happy that humans at least have the ability to make choices along that ride
so in light of recent conversations I've had, and prompted by Monika's recent musings on the purpose of dating, I've come to an understanding of my problems vis-a-vis romantic relationships. To illustrate...that I'm conscious of the Z-zone, I am officially sick of the preposterous song-and-dance it puts me through. I'm just going to assume my Y-zone is incompatible with everyone, and forget the whole deal
In a previous post I wrote that people like Paul Kurtz 'worship science' and that I'm skeptical of all alliances. One manifestation of group dynamics/mob mentality is offense and intolerance of humor....Hate speech in non-comedic contexts is worse, and functions more easily as propaganda, compared to humor which is more likely to be taken with a grain of salt, though it still has its socializing effect
On December 30, 1942, 25-year-old Frank Sinatra stepped onto the stage of New York’s Paramount Theatre. On cue, a dozen girls planted in the audience began screaming. Two pretended to faint. Unexpectedly, what began as a publicity stunt unleashed an episode of mass hysteria. Hundreds of other young women joined in the screaming and fainting, and 30 were rushed away in ambulances.
