1. On your recomdations I purchased "Red Mars" from the local chazbo shop (99p) to read when I've finished HP Lovecraft, which I'm quite enjoying as it happens. According to a notice pinned in the window of our local shop, the Hindu procession that I first wrote about here back in 2005, is due to occur again tomorrow. It passes down Leahurst Road, and we rush...tabards of the Thurkkai Amman Temple in Ealing, which is probably a clue, it seems to be the work of the Sri Lankan community. The Blackheath Bugle carries a superb picture of camels parading up Tranquil Vale in Blackheath , back in the days when circuses used to announce their arrival by parading their animals through the town...such odd, lo-fi spectaculars in public places. Unless you count tonight's performances by Blackheath Morris at The George and the Market Porter in Borough. Still not as weird as a whale though

This Thursday evening I will be out with Blackheath Morris Men for their "Lewisham Tour". As I have remarked here on many occasions before, Lewisham is not blessed with many good pubs, in fact I can't...in the Cotswold tradition, and if they're unlucky, to a bunch of drunken morris men playing tunes on their squeezeboxes afterwards. It was, despite the awful weather, a very enjoyable day - even if the dancing in the snow took me back to games lessons at school and having to play football in the most awful weather.
