Preparing for Hanna and Ike. Got lots of water stored. Dishes and laundry done. Have candles. Gameboy's charging. That bitch will be here by morning. I don't need electricity to ink, though. ^_^
...part of my paper and I could really use more help with the reviewing. I'm behind schedule for getting this done Sunday, so I've got to keep cranking. We're getting hit with the remnants of Tropical Storm Hanna tomorrow. I just hope it doesn't knock out the power here, I need to keep booking. I'm on a kick listening to Spiraling today, thanks to baxil jogging my memory. They're a great...
tropical storm hanna is supposed to hit us tomorrow; the rain's already started. i've never been in a tropical storm, so i don't really know what to do. i charged everything that's on a battery; i have flashlights, candles, and water. and nobody around here seems too nervous, although everyone's expecting to lose power. see, there's lots and lots of trees here, which in high winds (such as those...
I woke up afraid today. Now I know it's because of the storm. It's dark outside. And windy. Really windy. I have the windows open and one moment the wind is knocking over photos on the windowsills and another moment sucking my draperies into the screens. It's like it's two separate winds - one blowing and another pulling. Then it gets deadly still, as if the universe is waiting. There's a half light...
Ohhhh!!! Tomorrow is going to be a killer day to go to the beach. Possibility of a storm too? A gift so early in the year? Come to think of it I've lived here going on 13 years, and it seems to me that in the last 5 years we've had some mighty fine slaps up side the head by Mother Nature. I know global warming, the end of days, Armageddon, whatever you want to call it. Hurricane Juan didn't...
You hear that expression used metaphorically more often than literally, but we're experiencing it literally today. Tropical Storm Hanna is steaming up the coast and will probably make landfall just about where Coronation would have been if it hadn't been cancelled. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology that shows satellite pictures of the storm's location and progress, we can literally see it...
Your house is high enough off the ground that the water doesn't come in. See that 1st line of grass and then the fence line behind it? Our road runs between those 2 grass lines. From the bottom...state and then turn west toward TX. Instead Gustav decided to head straight north and just hung around for a few days, so we got WAY more than expected. Guess we'll wait to see what Ike does!
Please please tell me you mean when there's a storm too? > Because in that case: baseball! > Go out for a drive. > Go out for a run! > Make out. (Guess who.) > Talk. > Listen to Edward playing the piano. > Nobody likes to play hide and seek when either me or Edward are around, but that should be fun too! > Plan and plot for the next occasion to throw a party. And I usually know exactly when that...
I didn't expect these two to get along well. Come to find out that Nis clings to Storm like a limpet, and Storm feels very protective of the little one. They're not brothers - but they might as well be. I'm a little lamb who's lost in the wood... And I know I could always be good To one who'll watch over me.
It has been raining here almost everyday for the past month. Been getting thunder and lighting storms. I really wish it would stop raining this weather is really depressing. Let the rain go away.
