A quick explanation for my friends that don't follow my hobbies. Last night I played Microscope is a roleplaying game, that is a game where we has players act out the dialog that various characters say...being playing in Cthulhu Mythos, and was partly historical so we had a lot of note worthy people and their descendants in our game. I don't know how that affected our game or pushed it to new highs.
Back on Story Games, there was a request for Mortal Coil AP. Well this isn't AP, it's two Journal entries from our Mortal Coil Campaign that we played July 2008. I would like to show the type of fiction...old man's hand moved unconsciously to a pouch made of leaves hanging from his belt. "Perhaps when you are old enough, you'll be able to finish it. First, though, I should tell you how it began..."
We ( Nick and Minnetta my wife ) are back from Camp Nerdly, Ok I have been back sense around 1300. But took time for a nap and chilling. Nerdly was intense, and a lot of fun. I was very worried and stressing... I will post my games to BBG , and maybe get into some detailing. I had a blast and can't wait till next we meet everyone. That's all.. I have to work in the morning and be up @0315.
This actual play report is for a game that is not yet released. Please feel free to disregard this thread if you have no interested in pre-published games. The actual play in this first session is...inn's door while their colleague is on all coughing on all fours and being kicked in the ribs; the messenger lies prone, blood flowing from an open wound above his left ear. [End of session one]
Cross-posted from The Harping Monkey . I’m really enjoying reading through Paul Czege’s very interestinggame Thy Vernal Chieftans , and I got this really inspiring idea - to take a pic of the items...tokens when I play the game. It found it pretty fascinating that I had several of the items Paul calls for in the text - or at least reasonable symbolic substitutes.

I've finished my most recent draft of Perfect. For those not yet in the know: Perfect, a storygame about criminals in a Victorian dystopia. 1984 meets Quills, A Clockwork Orange meets Pride & Prejudice...Character Sheet v2.5.pdf It's written to an audience who already plays story games and is steeped in their words, so if you're not a gamer but want to know what is up, call me and we'll play.
Its always lovely when someone recommends something and they turn out to be right; its happened twice this week. I wrote a game over Christmas and wasn't quite sure what to do with it next. Robin recommended...(to name but a few)." Its about to get playtested between myself and Rich for a start, then hopefully with the other half of our former gaming group. If anyone else is interested, drop me a line.
As December comes to a close, so does a game design contest I've been working on. The Game Design Company Game Design Contest (9 points to whoever disambiguates that title correctly first) was initiated...has finished our cover. It goes on sale January 1st, and I'll be informing everyone of this fact via Facebook, LJ, S-G and email spam. Hopefully you'll sink a dollar into supporting our entry
Only took me a month. I blame NaNoWriMo. And laziness. This will be relatively brief since time has faded the crazy high I left the convention with and I don't want this to be even later than it already...better way to approach the large-group deliberating. I'm hoping to do a general "state of my gaming" post soon. I've had some thoughts about some of the systems I've been playing with lately
