The stray kittens are dead. I think that the tomcat who lives in the same yard killed them. Silly critters had no sense of survival, so I fear they wouldn't even attempt to hide. *sigh* A part of me knew... But he ate chicken last night, and he purrs when I pet him, so I hope it will go away soon. Otherwise, it's YET another trip to the vet first thing on Monday. The weekend isn't starting well
Good news on the stray kitten front. :) My neighbor, who's friend will adopt one kitten, has agreed to keep them in his back yard until we find them all good homes. *purr* So I packed them and brought...room for the night, since she's out of town. Tomorrow we'll do the transfer. At last I'll sleep tonight without fearing they'll end up roadkill during the night... Anyone wants to adopt a kitten, BTW
I'm SO very tired. Taking care of so many animals is really taking its toll on me. *sigh* But there are some good news: a friend of the neighbor who took care of the kittens' late mother will take in...teaching mischief to Peskadeeri. Those two are already BFFs. *snicker* Here they are plotting to take over the world, starting from the bathtub. *off to squeeze that gingerkitten
Bad couple of weeks. Bad weekend. Bad month. *sigh* On the plus side, I just finished my homeopathy school. I still have two assignments to turn in, but my exams will be either in late September or... *doublesigh* And how is it that, whenever I have no time to write, it's then that I get hit by somewhat interesting ideas? If there are no kitty emergencies, hopefully I'll catch up this afternoon
Resident animals are much better today. Penelope seems fine, and Peskadeeri has returned to his normal bratty self, stealing Lugh's food and running the length of the house alongside Gandalf. The two of...by climbing out on an hourly basis. And they're still sick, but, thankfully, still frisky and playful. Hopefully, one of the remedies will work. And I hope I'll manage some house-cleaning today.
This has been a very tiring week so far, flirting with "awful". On Tuesday, I visited my friend who's going to take Calypso (once she's healed) at her farm. Her dogs are adorable, and her biggest, a...finished, and very little house-cleaning. And since the house is a cat-sty by now, I fear that my writing and studying will have to wait. *sigh* The litterboxes await. Fret not, my nose heart
I just left Gandalf at the vet's for his snip snip, and I should really take Jasmin too next week. Little Calypso mewed pathetically all the time I was there, and I took the chance to clean her cage a...there. *sigh* And I'm up since 4 am, did a bit of writing, did a bit of cleaning. I'm going to eat something now, take a nap and finish cleaning Calypso's carrier so she'll return to a clean "home"
Crap. Calypso managed to dislocate the nail from her broken leg and needs a second surgery. I have no idea how, since I barely let her out of the carrier. The vet said that it might be due to already compromisedbone density. It the second surgery won't work, we'll have to amputate her leg. I left her at the vet's for the night, and will have surgery first thing in the morning. Crap.
took Calypso to the vet this morning, and he said she's doing great. I was afraid she might have pus gathered again around her fracture, but she seems fine. Her mild incontinence is a result of the damage...words to thank you all for your awesome support, both emotional as well as financial - those of you who can afford it. Really. It means more than you know. Purrs and mews from the Clan McTrouble.
